You, on your own, can tank the attacks of 5-6 people before tumbling out? (While you're not a faeling, that is.)

Well, I kinda sorta do.
Terenas2005-06-25 23:00:53
Knights do? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean no one does. I don't think we need to go into things that no one likes but still occurs since there are obviously way too many to even mention.
Munsia2005-06-25 23:18:56
I think the whole point of knights falling down too is becuase when you tackle someone you are what.. landing ontop of them right?
Alger2005-06-25 23:26:01
this tackling thing is another example of people complaing after changes has been made
no you cant spam tackle but its still bugged at the moment.

I'm lucky to resist any kind of summon once. 9 times in a row heh...
Gwylifar2005-08-17 13:27:20
Yeah, but what good is nine resists if they can do ten attempts in two seconds? However many times you can resist, they can always beckon one more than that, and the amount of time the resists buy is negligible.
Jadryga2005-08-17 13:38:45
If Eiru explained right to me, that's only possible with TARGETTED beckon, which can be avoided with... wait for it... shielding!
Room beckon uses equi on the failed attempt.

Gregori2005-08-17 13:47:46
Personally, I think any skill, no matter what it is, that can bypass defenses simply by spamming it enough times, needs to be looked at. Considering all that would need be done in this case, is someone walk in nullify shield and Eiru again spams beckon, it pretty much makes resistances null and void. Not saying he is doing anything wrong by using it, as the skill is currently intended to work that way. Just saying, any skill intended to acheive its goal by spamming, should have someone look into them more.

If you can somehow justify being able to beckon someone 10 times in a row in 2 seconds then I want to be able to spam tackle until I successfully pull it off again.
Sylphas2005-08-17 20:13:23
And the same for headbutt. With size 6, I should obviously be able to instantly headbutt anyone.
Malicia2005-08-18 00:00:34
Old thread?
Well, anyhow, the new envoy reports are due soon and I really hope that the admin take a look at the ability. I realize that this isn't Achaea, but the way beckon worked there was a bit more realistic. As Narsrim explained, how does a demon pull my physical body through a wall, regardless of my condition (paralysed, crippled, etc) and without transforming me in some way? A monolith should stop it on a room attack and shield for a targetted beckon. Not sure if that's possible.

It has come to my attention that many people do not seem to know what a tackle actually is. I attribute this to American football being a girly version of rugby (no offence to our American players).
This is a tackle. Please do not complain about tackling knocking you over - it is a 'tackle', not a 'gentle push'.
I am aware that this may digress somewhat from the thread's original point, but these concerns have been raised, and need to be addressed.

Sweet, so could we not move our targets to another room with tackle then, but just instead knock them onto the ground?

Are you a Lions player, or an All Black?
Gregori2005-08-18 03:22:48
Not saying Rugby isn't a tougher sport, although attributing people's willingness to have their faces kicked in by spiked shoes to toughness and not something else is a bit off, but American/Canadian football is hardly "girly".
Oh look an almost identical version of Shikari's Tackle!
Definately nothing girly here.
If you want to start insulting the differences between Rugby and American/Canadian football, I believe the forum called Real World is down the hall. As it is I am pretty sure most of us are aware of what a tackle is.

Heh, have you ever seen american football hits? I've watched rugby, and the hits in that game are no where near as hard as seeing a linebacker knock the the F-out a Quarterback.

Rugby has 0 padding.
American football you have padding.
