Well, illusions and poisons are aleady there so what we're missing is Subterfuge and Hypnotism from the snakes. As an ex-snake from Aetolia, I wouldn't mind seeing Hypno comming in somewhere, (perhaps as an alternative to dreamweaving) but subterfuge? It was rather hard to work with that well. A guild with the same mindset of 'lies, confusion, and more lies' would be neat though.
Monks? Blah. You can leave them, though that's personal opinion (Most of my life I never had dodging and all of my characters couldn't take damage well, Cwin included).
There's always bringing in Vampires.

No there isn't. Shush.
(That said, I really like hypnosis, and Druids could use another skillchoice!)
Sylphas2005-06-25 07:04:22
Yes, since we just recently got ANY choice, and now Guardians/Wiccans have three, and warriors have 4/6.
Shiri2005-06-25 07:29:35
Although hypnosis isn't really long range like Druids/Mages seem to work well with, actually.

Time young one, time. Original design called for all non-warrior archtypes to have 3 choices, but there was no where near enough time in development to do that. You'll notice Mages/Druids had 1 "choice" at opening, and they got the first skillset added.

The only difference I see is that the Roleplay is the same, and your limited in what your organizations do, but from what you can do as far as classes, I think it feels much more flexible.
All we are "missing" are monks and Snakes, but I'm sure thats going to change in the next 9 months.

NINE MONTHS!?!?!?!?
In other realms that would be easy to do, add one new skillset, boom new guild. Here, it doesn't work like that. Since you like to look at combinations, lets add it up.
Primary skill, ATLEAST 1 spec for each city/commune(I'm just going to say city from here on out).
Manditory Secondary skill
2 Skill choices, a third specific to commune/city(meaning 2 more).
Now assuming none of those lower skills have specs, that's 1 base, 4 specs, and atleast 5 secondary skills. Double that to add 2 new archtypes and you get 2 base, 8 specs, and 10 secondary skills. To make it easier to think about, a spec and base is basicly half a skillset each so we can add those together to get 5(2 base + 8 spec = 10 half skills = 5 whole skills) So 15 total skillsets to add in 2 archtypes. I'm fast, but not THAT fast. At somewhere between 70-90 hours a week, I can do 1 base skill or spec in 1-2 weeks. I'd love to add more archtypes that fast, but I do need to eat sometimes.
P.S. I didn't say I need to sleep, as that would be lieing.
Edit:That doesn't include skill dev time, which can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on the skill.

No freaking vodun.

I am quitting the moment Vodun/Puppetry is even suggested.
Amaru2005-06-25 15:10:50
I think everyone with any brains hates the idea of taking our classes from any other IRE games. If you want monks and snakes, play Achaea. Want vodun? Play Achaea. Because people who like vodun aren't wanted here, and people who can't appreciate Lusternia's originality and want to impose Achaea or Aetolia onto Lusternia - aren't wanted here.
Gwylifar2005-06-25 15:24:24
I wonder if people in Achaea are saying "add Astrology!" in their forums... or if they're not yet, if they will be in a month.

i would just like something for guardians to get off cosmicfire i mean come on it gets old the first sixty levels can we get a little change hell even wiccans get nightkiss/moonburst.
Daganev2005-06-26 05:03:32
Hajamin, you know you guys are the gods at coding really cool things faster than anyone can ever expect. 9 months was underestimating your abilities
But I did underestimate the amount of skillsets needed to be made for one archetype.

Coding the the easy part, I average about 2 weeks for a skill, its design and balance thats hard. Design can take months, depending on what the skill is. Balance, well that never ends.
Suhnaye2005-06-26 14:14:26
Snakes only seem to fit into Gaudiguch... If you wanted to stick to a purely RP point of view (and though a few city/commune unique guilds could be cool, its unrealistic)... Monks however seem like they'd be a likely new achetype, considering Tosha's... They'd certainly be a helluva lot different from Achaea, 'least beyond the Tekura, Tekura was a very cool way of setting up monk style fighting...
Vodun=bad
Vampires.... What are you thinking? Vampires don't even exist in Lusternia!

I would think Snakes would be the Gaudiguch Warrior Archetype, while "Warrior" Monk would be Hallifax's. At least that would be my personal opinions & views
