This is a follow-up to the topic "Role-playing Forum" in the Ideas board.

In addition to casting a vote feel free to post with information on why you voted the way you did, as well as some commentary on what sort of activities/guidelines you would like to see occur if there was such a board. I thank you for your time!

The orignal topic can be viewed here.

I was a member of a RP forum for a while and it was a heck of a lot of fun creating new characters, writing their history and then weaving them into a storyline with others. That's why I vote yes.

Lets bring more roleplaying into Lusternia, and less into the Forums!

I support more role-play in-game as well, but there is a bit of separation between making a world around you, and following directions given by a program. With a computerized program there are only so many options which may be presented--the simple fact of protocol is the cause of this. When playing the game there are only so many different variations upon which the game may be built. While there may come new players and a few separate quests, but it is essentially a different bull same fecal matter. However, with a role-playing experience based on interaction with anyone who cares to participate, there are almost limitless possibilities. This is also enhanced by the fact that the timeframe is not quite as limited. Within the MUD you have to be there at the exact time, in the exact place of the event to participate, whereas on a forum one person may post and allow the story to move along at a pace that he sees fit. Again I fully encourage RP in every applicable situation, but this forum would allow us to ready ourselves for the game. Albeit, it would have no bearing on the game, but that is the advantage. If your character dies in a thread, then there is no reprecussion of that happening; is it not otherwise in the game? Think on it, people.

You're going to have to distinguish between if you want a forum where you RP on it, or if you want one where you discuss RP.

Your poll is misleading, if you're still looking for a forum to RP in.

Oi, the one discussing RP isn't meant?
Then take back a vote from yes.

Hmmmm.... lemme see--Q: Would you like to see a sub-forum dedicated to role-playing, and all that entails?

Don't really see a part to that which might be misleading. It is not unreasonable to assume that "sub-forum dedicated to role-playing, and all that entails," would include such an item. That which entails could range from actual interactive stories to discussions concerning anything of a role-playing nature.

It could've meant a forum to discuss about the RP going on in Lusternia. All that entails could mean ranging from complaints about the lack of RP to help in description making, lessons in how to RP, ext.

To some it would still be different from "an IC story board".

In the least, the fact that some people were confused makes the vote invalid, sorry.

Seriously, I still don't get it... why roleplay on the boards when you can't get enough of it sometimes in game?
Unknown2005-06-23 17:06:21
Might I note you said, "Sometimes."
Unknown2005-06-23 17:07:09
Gah lets just go ahead and make a thread in general tongue.gif. Bugger the polls.

Meaning sometimes people don't RP enough, not that we are in desperate need of a certain level of RP daily.
Richter2005-06-23 17:30:02
Why would you RP here when you're basing it off of a roleplay Game. You have a game for it. Lusternia isn't a roleplay forum.

That said, there's a link to a newer, clearer poll.
