So, what's this about astology then? I'm not saying, please post your skill lists, triggers to counter it, and strategies to beat it, but I'm just curious. Who gets it? What's the general gist of it? Unless it's, y'know, that super-secret, in which case I'll go crawl back under my rock and mock Terenas.

It's based on signs, position of the planets, when the target was born... basically, all the things that astrology has historically been based on. Effects can range across a broad spectrum, being either good or bad, depending on the position of celestial objects.

Hm. So it's a sort of buffing/afflicting class? Provide useful defenses to your friends, inflict curses and afflictions to your foes, based on your astrology junk? Sounds pretty cool. I'm assuming, based on what little of the recent event I saw, that it's a wiccan/guardian thing? Do they know get three support skill choices (e.g. tarot/healing/astrology for celestines, tarot/hexes/astrology for nihilists, healing/hexes/astrology for wicca) or does it go somewhere else entirely?

EDIT: And I realize that it's a cool new thing, and we don't want everyone to know all about it in the first 10 minutes. So feel free to keep secret things secret and tell me to sod off. Just interested, want to know whatever's publically available. I'll probably ask around in-game too, where people will be more likely to let me know what kind of skills they now have that might help out the whole commune

It goes in place of tarot/hexes/healing in that slot as a support skill choice.

Yeah, that's the overall theme of it. At some times you can use your skills to buff, other times you use those EXACT SAME skills to afflict... and yeah, you have it right in the skill selection area, too.

Sounds like a skill-set that will have Guardians/Wiccans sitting in an observatory sending out long distance curses or blessings. Is that possibly the case?

Moondancers, Nihilists, Shadowdancers, and Celestines, all of them have the skill.

As far as I have gotten in astrology, it has two phases.

One: Birth

Two: Current

Birth astrology is afflictions and attacks based on the aspects you were born under. To determine your aspects, HELP ASTROLOGY should give you a clue. Attacks in early astrology are based on this birth sign, then. For example. A skill might do fire damage to somebody born under the Sun in Volcano, and the same skill will do asphyxiation damage to somebody burn under the Sun in Crocodile.

Current astroligy is afflictions and buffs based on the aspects as they are at the moment. This involves two steps. Direct rays, and entire spheres. A direct ray, as I understand it, is a single, less variable attack. A sphere attack contemplates the current aspect of all planets to figure for one giant buff or attack. These can range from huge amounts of damage, dexterity boosts, to whatever else you can think of (I believe). Depending on how the planets are aligned, this can cost heaps of power, some power, or no power at all, as well as being a strong/weak attack/buff.

No, I want the coolness and advanced-ness of Astrology. Dreamweaving is second in coolness to it, sure, but I like how unique Astrology is and how advanced and wide-scope it is (sounds like there's a lot of different powers that can be used based on the current sign).

I'm too daft to understand this AB file I have of astrology, but I know it's gonna cost me hours of scripting and updating people.
