What are gorgogs? Im asking cuz Celest is saying their after some sand or somethin? so i was wonderin what they might be.
Sekreh2005-06-24 23:41:59
Darn you Gorgogs, killing my alts... DARN YOU!

I'm not sure, but they're aggro and rather strong, so avoid them.
Daganev2005-06-24 23:45:18
anyone spent enough time to examine them and get a Description?
Shamarah2005-06-24 23:48:46
Crafted from what seems to be mud kept fluid by some kind of
elemental force, the gorgog is a sight to behold. Sculpted into a humanoid form
distorted by huge musculature with veins through which crystal clear water
flows, and looming over the tallest of adventurers, it epitomises brute force -
callous, uncaring, and motivated solely by anger. Orange-yellow flames rage
behind his eyes, their fierce luminesence drilling into anything that stays
too long in their relentless gaze, adding to the overall impression that this
creature is not safe to be around at all.

I'm betting we're about to see two new villages - a merian one, and a Gorgog one.
Unknown2005-06-25 01:36:11
And a new race? Ooer.
Cause, you can't have the village available without the race being playable, ya know.
Unknown2005-06-25 01:37:58
At least three times the height of a normal gorgog and twice the width, with
arms as thick around as a treetrunk. This monstrosity has fire racing along
its mud based flesh, the crystal clear water in its veins fairly boiling from
the outside heat. Muscles rippling along its mud based flesh, and raging fire
burning from within the shrewd eyes is a terrifying sight to those who would
dare meet its gaze.

Where is the elemant of Air in the Gorgons?
Arundel2005-06-25 02:16:01
Gorgogs are basically elemental creations, crafted by the mages during (or before?) the Taint Wars. When the plane of Earth was corrupted, so were they.

On another note, gorgogs are evil. One appeared out of the sky over Bondero Bay, so I thought to dive underwater and see if it fell in the bay. I dove right into a trio of hammerheads.
Daganev2005-06-25 02:20:37
Gorgog have Firey eyes, Watery Veins and Earth bodies, I'm wondering where the AIR is..

I asked that too, and apparently there's some sort of crystal involved which supposedly represents it. Heh.
Daganev2005-06-25 03:05:35
The only crystal I see in those two descriptions is in defining the state of the water...

Hmmm, I wonder if its very being is put together and moved by air, so you wouldn't really see it. Kind of like spirit, but less metaphysical.
Unknown2005-06-25 03:16:29
Water could be the strange elemental force keeping their shapes.

The mobs clearly state the Gorgogs were made before the Taint Wars They were sent out as recon scouts, looking for the Astral Plane. These are what found it's existance, and thus Cosmic Hope was born

You realise only a handful of the gorgogs are sentient, and only one is actually intelligent?

Nope. smile.gif Not until well after that post - I'd not been on Lusternia until after the post. Har.

Even then, only one's intelligent. Okay. Orc's aren't the most dry cookie in the crayon box, now are they? I could see either just one village coming from this - or something wierd happening to some of the Gorgogs, and a few more intelligent ones are birthed.

We'll see, I imagine. Or both the villages could be destroyed and this big empty hole of darkness could be sitting in Bondero Bay, and I'd be convinced Lisaera's hot tub is going there. Either or.
Acrune2005-06-25 19:41:03
Dont they chant spells though? I never really get a good look, because I dont have time to read much when I'm killin em with 3k health or so, but chanting seems like it'd show some sort of intelegence.

Ah ha, here it is:

An enormous gorgog flings a muscled arm out, his fist slamming into your gut
and remaining there. Slowly, he begins to chant hoarse syllables beneath his
breath, and a burning blast of boiling water slams into your flesh, blistering
on contact.

I dunno, maybe it's just vocalizing as it uses its natural magical defenses.

Hey, dogs growl, cat's meow. Gorgogs could chant.
Acrune2005-06-26 00:45:32
But when animals make noise, is that followed by significant pain as a direct result? It seems to me that they're smart enough to learn magic and actively use it, they could build a village. But it doesn't really matter any more, cuz they're probably all dead by now sad.gif Who wants to help me resummon em? tongue.gif
