You don't do the same thing? REally, you sit there and try to tell us how we are wrong and then go 'la la la' with your fingers in your ears when we explain how it is our perspective, not yours.
None of us are right from an objective point of view; none of us know the right answers. We work with what we are given and in that context, none of us are wrong.

WTF is your problem?
Do you know anything about Daganev the charachter, what he is built around? What his entire existance has been? Yeah, I didn't think so.
One's race is a reflection of thier soul, and the body but a shell, when your soul finally fits your real form you ressurect and the body forms to the new soul shard. But I'm sure you don't care about that.
Malicia, I've been arguing the same exact thing since Celest and Serenwilde both had 1 village, and Serenwilde starting acting like a city rather than a commune.
I have not suggested that you change your RP in any shape or form, I have asked that you open your Frikin eyes and see that the the world is complex and just admit that your Roleplaying a Fanatic that has no bearing on the truth of the real. Elryn will refuse to do that, because he insists everyone else is being a fanataic and he can't rp something unless its true. And it sickens me.

Cool it Rhysus. That's now two out of three mods you've accused of abusing powers. I've yet to see one. If you have an issue with Daganev, the forums is not the place to post. Kindly message one of the gods, or send an email to support@lusternia.com.
Thank you.

So anyone who owns a Changeling Cameo is no longer allowed to claim any kind of good RP?
Richter2005-06-28 18:23:19
It allows for some great RP, but I think we've gotten off topic a bit.

Alright, people.
Mind the personal attacks, some of the comments are getting a bit too close to the line between acceptable and unacceptable.
It'd be a shame to have to lock the thread, because there's been some good discussion so far.

From an RP standpoint, I'm beginning to realy feel that there's actualy nothing wrong happening. Celest is becomming an empire. Seren had buddied with them (partialy or too closely) for their own growth and, perhaps, becoming too close to the 'Light'. Mag has lost ALOT of it's old power and is now getting slammed with anti-taint talk. Glom is getting pounded on, simply put, and is somehow trying to deal with everyone linking them to an ally they don't want and a cause they don't believe in.
What's BAD about that in an RP sense. It's just how the story panned out (you can tell by the fact that you bring up the past to argue about it). Blah, you can put it all together and sell it as a Fantasy novel (I'd bet it sell too). It could work as a soap opera as well (All My Lusternians).
So I don't see anything wrong with any of the group's RP.
Perhaps the REAL argument is a technical side. Celest and Seren have grouped up and are winning this 'anti-taint war' that's been created and it's taking away the fun from the losing side. While that's all well and good for compeditive games, RP places like this one 'can't let the story end. Thus I believe that the whole Celest/Seren thing (allies, bullied, or just 'strange bedfellows') was ok to happen, I don't think it can stay that way: I don't believe Mag and Glom can counter it without teaming up, leaving us with two groups instead of the four we were hoping for.
Trick is: Telling Celest or Seren to change is silly. They both, from an IC perspective, have reasons to work together and there isn't a reason to change that. Instead, something in the story has to come up that either empowers the other side or breaks up the two groups.
The good side is that I think it'll be the perfect time for the latter to happen. Glom has no villages while Mag has lost most of theirs. The war is almost over and now Celest is the empire Mag used to be.
All it takes now is Celest to do something that hurts Seren, or the other way around. Perhaps another new 'project' or some village debate, or some fae being taken to become of the Light. I believe it will happen, given time (and if it doesn't, something 'seemingly innocent' should be added to help it along) and when it does the 'alliance' won't last.
Of course first Celest and Seren would have to see their enemies as no longer a threat first.

No, you are again misinterpreting what I say. I say that I do not enjoy roleplaying something that is obviously untrue. Subtle but important difference.
I don't remember insisting anyone else was a fanatic, either.
Maybe the problem that I have with arguing with you is that you hold RP as the ideal, while I do not. To me, it is part of the experience, but not the be all and end all.
Elryn is fanatical about being anti-Taint, yes. I am not. I'm happy with a powerful tainted city, we need those contrasts to make the conflict interesting. If it was just that if they had a black flag and celest had a white, and they both 'invented' this thing called taint as an excuse for their war on colours, I don't think Lusternia would be anywhere near as engrossing other than as a political sim.
I'm resigned to a tainted 'commune', even though I believe it dilutes that conflict and introduces inconsistencies into the mix. I simply argue that they really have no leg to stand on in suggesting they are 'one of the boys' of Nature. If they are untainted, sure, they can be conflicting but still capable of seeing past their differences. If not, they are going to be the antithesis of Serenwilde, as I thought it was intended to be.
I don't like going back into the time-worn generic fantasy mindset of 'Oh no, a building! A little flower could grow there instead! Heathens!' I liked the fact that Serenwilde had a more realistic and mature argument with cities, and especially because it was clearly unfair and racist but totally consistent with the world they inhabit.
I don't want taint to be reduced to nothingness when it has this incredibly interesting, powerful backstory to support a world in crisis and filled with division and strife. I certainly don't mind if those on the taint side of things interpret their actions as good and righteous, and for the betterment of their world. But that should not be an objective viewpoint. If taint is not corruptive to that which it touches then I suggest it be renamed to something more appropriate, like 'magic'. Oh, wait, thats been done.
Eh, I know its pointless trying to explain this to Daganev, but I can try.
