Alright so, those of you who played Achaea know of the Paladins and how the city of Shallam made most people cringe just hearing it. Damn Churchies. The name 'Paladins' doesn't seem to fit in with the setup in Lusternia. It's almost a deterrent to those who might want to join the anti-taint warrior guild. This isn't a binding poll (obviously! ) Just interested in the opinions of some of you.
If you could think of a better name for the Paladins, what would it be?

We've only had about nine threads on this already.

I've never seen it!

Templar hands down.
Shiri2005-06-28 14:17:18
Etanru's right. (It STILL needs to happen though. I like Starwardens.)
Amaru2005-06-28 14:23:59
Gotta be Templars. Pure class.
Unknown2005-06-28 14:24:01
The Saints?
My old proposal, RoyalGuard, is not included therefore I won't vote!
Seriously though, Crusaders or Templars seem to sound best.

voted templars... but it should be reserveguard!
Unknown2005-06-28 14:29:45
I don't know what heretics are voting Starwardens, but you will burn in Nil.
Malicia2005-06-28 14:30:45
Saints just reminded me of the movie, Boondock Saints..which Rafael LOVES to quote from during combat, edited for Lusternia of course.

Starwardens make them sound like panzys, although that may be appropriate. =]
Crusaders make them sound extremely zealous, strict, and uptight. It has potential to work, but my general impression of the current Paladins does not match this description.
Templars sound good overall.
Go with Templars.

Gooooooooo templars!
Ashteru2005-06-28 15:18:32
Templars, although the name isn't really fitting in Lusternia because of the reason for creation of it.
Unknown2005-06-28 15:36:27
I voted Templars, but I'd also like to suggest Praetorians.
Iraen2005-06-28 15:40:20
I like Templars generally but I don't think it fits with the rather lofty language used for the terminology of Celest's various organizations.
I voted for Starwardens. Burning in Nil, I suppose.

I'm the one that voted for Lightguard (or some derivation thereof). Templars would be good, but as someone pointed out, it doesn't really fit in the context of Lusternia in general. Something to the effect of "Lightguard" or "Planesguard" would more easily fit in to the realm.
Saikado2005-06-28 15:50:25
I voted Templars myself just because it sounds more appropriate than Crusaders, even though that's what the Paladins are turning into -cough cough- in my opinion.
Anywho...Paladins are zealots by nature, extremist zealots, worse than Crusaders which doesn't seem to really fit Lusternia. Except Rafael -snerks-

there are too many guards!
i like to refer to the ur'gaurd as the guard, or similiar, make it something thats not guard
and if I see hallifax or gaudiguch with the warrior guilds called the somethingguard i'm going to flip

Nah Saikado, Paladins SHOULD be crusaders. Just not disloyal like Rafael.
Manjanaia2005-06-28 16:26:20
Templars by a mile.
