Murphy > Actually, I don't think you quite hit the Urlach mark.. and I only say this because Murphy seems entirely focused on strength, might, and power.. while it says in the histories that unlike the other Orclach vernal gods, Urlach chose to expand his mind instead of his body.. i just don't get that 'deep thinker' vibe from Murphy :-p
Singollo2005-06-29 23:22:41
I'm with Thorgal here, I don't like to act much. I try to portray myself as stubborn, brutish, intelligent and a bit crazy.
Murphy2005-06-29 23:29:43
Urlach was still very much a combatant
The Bone Helm of the Urlach is the mightiest artifact of the ur'Guard, said to be forged by Klangratch especially for Urlach during the ancient Vernal Wars. It is made shards of bones from many beings, melded together in a horrifying death mask. The slots for eyes are covered in jet black glass, and countess bony spikes erupt in symmetrical curved lines around the jaw. Enormous horns jut out from the temples and a fanged mouth is set in a perpetual rictus grin on the visor. Its history oozes from it in an aura of lethal combat and brutality.
Combat and brutality, sure sounds like Murphy to me.

Well, Murphy works as someone who might serve Urlach, I agree, but being his Chosen, I would just think he'd be more based in his mental attributes. But, that's just a difference between interpretations. *shrugs* No insult intended, I just picture the Chosen of Urlach being more the badass general than the raging berserker, and i've just never gotten the intellectual feel from Murphy (not that he can't lead, I just see him as being more instinctual than calculating *shrugs)
Murphy2005-06-29 23:49:24
That's what most enemies don't see, the behind the scnees work, sometime s I rage in, others i pull back, set a trap or similair
EDIT: Badass general is what I go for, just wait till I take over one of the new cities, you'll see how bad I can be!

I just roleplay as a nobody, I don't put my nose into other's business and in turn I want to be left alone.
Aajen2005-06-30 00:36:54
Bwahahaha mine's easy... Just like every other mud character I've ever played... Gentleman Knight. The whole concpet of a gentleman who's business it is to do battle has always facinated me. Though my flails don't really go with that too well. I also come off as a loner. More or less, I just play myself + taint.
And Murph, I always think of you like that Ajax character from Troy, not so much the 'real' Ajax (or the super-powerful cleaner) as I doubt you'd kill yourself if you lost a wrestling match.

if so then I'm chuffed!

Aajen2005-06-30 00:41:52
I'm not sure what chuffed means..... but yea, Ajax was the big guy with the bigger hammer.
Murphy2005-06-30 00:42:40
chuffed = pleased

Thanks! That's were I'm thinking about putting her. Those characters will get along great
Edited to add: I'm glad you could make sense of that, post too. I wrote it in a rush and didn't proofread it. Sorry about that.

My character is rather open minded when it comes to politics and policies, particularly between cities. I try to play him off as being very curious, and very polite at the same time. He never scoffs at helping, and as I put in another thread, he loves helping people (particularly fellow pupils whose clothes decayed). Still, he remains somewhat distant and collected, rarely reverting to anger (and one time he was supposedly angered, it was over tells with Revan, which (I think was) Murphy, were out of character)
Not too hard to role play... not sure if anyone ever noticed O.o

rephrase that about revan and me? I'm not Revan, I remember having a talking to a novice who was out of line in magnagora, was that you?

That'd be weird..
Unknown2005-06-30 02:25:51
I think it was you that took me up into the Bell Tower in Mag after I got pissed at Revan. You gave me a speech that I have not earned my right to speak yet and that Mag hierarchy has no room for free speech.
And I wasn't/am not a novice either.

Murphy2005-06-30 02:28:48
ahh ok my mistake
Yeh I gave you a talking to in private because saying that isn't tolerated in magnagora. I do it to all young'uns who are outspoken and overly-opinionated

Unknown2005-06-30 03:04:55
Well, I never was outspoken, but I did not appreciate the actions of one of our top guildmates. I still don't condone his actions and to this day I teach our novices that discretion is the better part of valor, as well as the subtlties of "etiquette warfare".
Murphy2005-06-30 03:06:52
you're entitled to your opinion, and your own methods, just not entitled to openly express them in an insulting manner

Jasper plays his part well, I think. Everytime I came in contact, he was a perfect . Which I think is after the "dark shadows" took over him. Wasn't what way before. A bit distant but not mean.
As for Marina, I play her as a visionary and a gentle woman; sort of like a grandmother or that really loving mother on the neighborhood block that feeds all the kids and sits on her rocking chair, telling them about the "good ole" days. But she's also got a "mysterious" aspect to her. She wears the name of "Insane" because most of the basin (or serenwilde actually) believes her to be insane. So why not let them have their opinions and keep everyone happy?

She also really dislikes totems, and is quite loud in her disapproval.
