What in the world happened to my forums? :tantrum:
They were changed because you touch your dorsal fin at night.

Bad news. It looks like we lost all our smilies...
I will try to find as many as I can, however...
I -think- I might have some. I'll go through my temporary files and everything and see what I can find!

I had a revelation and had to share. I knew I recognized the vaguely off-putting bold/italic post-composing font! TWITTER.
Why do the forums want so badly to be all of the social media sites? :?

Interestingly enough, I see that a lot of these new sites (social or just a new Web 2.0 company) seem to be optimizing their look for the mac first, which is why the fonts are a bit less ideal--they are putting Helvetica before Arial, which means all PCs see a slightly weird approximation instead of the optimized arial. Even though the PC is still the majority, it shows how it's dominance is being slowly eroded in the Vox Populi mind by developers who see the tablets and phones as the ideal platform.
As far as social stuff goes, well, you can't ignore it anymore. Pretty much Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin are now considered similar to e-mail--you pretty much HAVE to have it, you're going to be seen as a weird hermit or contrarian if you don't belong to at least one of those.

I'm going to make people bring a pass and a useless trinket if they want to visit me then.
Also I miss the old forums and my lobo power skin!

I made a Facebook Account and G+ Account earlier this week.I will likely check it once every few days at best. I will never, ever, make a twitter account, a tumblr account, or a linkedin account. Thank you very much! :(

Funny, I only have a twitter. I deleted my Facebook when I realized I never used it, but it had my information ALLLLLLLLLLLL over it.
Downside: Can't stalk Estarra anymore.

LinkedIn might be very necessary if you're going to have a white-collar career--it might make the difference in getting the job, as it's more a virtual rolodex than anything else--that stream solely focuses on business.
Of course, what I really think should happen is for there to be some Internet protocol for social media to take over so everything's not locked down to one server or one endpoint, similar to e-mail. I suspect that will happen as businesses rise and fall, and people really get sick of moving around.

Here's how a moderator can fix the "Like This" button:
Go to Members, Manage User Groups, Edit, and on the Global tab you can set how much positive quota we all have.
Should only take a couple of minutes, but as I can't see the pages involved, I can't be sure.

Oh wow, I haven't played KoL in forever. Way to stir the nostalgia, ya cave-dweller.

Ok, important question time! There's a spambot post in the Lusternian Cookbook thread. I couldn't find any way to report the poster on the offending post itself, so I went to their profile and clicked the link for reporting a user. And then...I got an error about not being able to figure out what sort of content I was trying to report.
How should we handle reporting spam posts?

I got hungry and ate the old ones, forcing the implementation of a new system.

Actually, I probably spend more time on the forums on my iPhone than I do at home. Simple reason for that. I can read the forums on break or on a long commute. The mobile version of the new forum design is MUCH MUCH better than the previous... and I believe there is an app for that as well.

If I get an iphone-like-smartphone, I'm getting a Droid Based one. Google is taking over the world and it's clear to see.

I love my Samsung Galaxy. I wanted the Droid X but they don't sell it in Canada.

I'm not seeing any "Manage User Groups" in "Members." Might have to be Estarra.

Ok, think i fixed the like buttons -- didn't realize anyone would use them!
Ssaliss2011-10-18 01:24:12
Yep, they're fixed!
