Here, I use allheale and I could also invoke green. Not everyone has some magical curing ability, though, so it might be nice if allheale worked (perhaps small random chance?) for curing anorexia.

This would make no sense, how could you sip allheale if you had anorexia in the first place?
Personally I don't think there is a major problem since Green is very low in Lowmagic, and you are able to get Hod fairly low in Highmagic as well, this is of course not bringing in guild affliction curing skills.

Environment Skill: Apply Allheale.

Of course, it makes sense (at least to me). It's called ALLheale, so I see no reason why it can't work like Pepto Bismol and cure you of your anorexia as it goes down (not that the pink stuff cures anorexia, but that's just how I picture the cure for some bizarre reason). This stuff is magical and it'd probably sell more often if it could get people out of affliction locks some of the time.
Green and Hod might be "fairly" low in their respective skill sets, but to people who cannot purchase or easily earn credits, they are lessons that cannot be afforded because they are more useful in their guild skills.
Applying allheale would be an interesting option, too. Would make your curing a little trickier, though not too bad. I'm just glad that applying health doesn't take away salve balance AND elixir balance.

The idea of eating or drinking is suddenly repulsive to you.
The idea of putting something in your stomach sickens you.

It seems rather clear to me why you can't drink allheale just like anything else.
Apply allheale idea is kind of interesting.

Gurgle it?
Daganev2005-07-13 05:55:27
Pepto Bismo is a good example... I had a stomach ache, and when I opened up the pink bottle to drink it, it smelled so bad, it made my stomach not hurt anymore... so the scent of the Allheale as it comes near your nose and you try to drink it cures your anorexia before you have the chance to pull the bottle back *nod me*

Sniff allheale?
Nayl2005-07-13 13:34:41
Make it so it can cure either or.
And you snort some (C'mon, we know Estarra can write graphic, look at bashbrain)

I don't like where this is going. When someone eventually ends up mainlining allheale, and guilds are checking people's arms before admission, that'll be a bad day.

Achaea did get drugs (a real one, not just cactus weed), why can't we? Just imagine Kethuru addicted to glisten, or whatever it's called. On the other hand, they don't seem to fit very well with our atmosphere.

We lack the whale-fat and the pomegrants to make Gleam.
Richter2005-07-13 20:57:34
They got drugs? I sense RP to be had and money to be made!
Anarias2005-07-17 08:56:19
Gleam in Achaea sucked. It was far far too pricey for me, being sold at 1100 gold per packet, and sold by one of the denizens that got killed off most, Kortoxian. Thus, when my supply ran out I was in a world of hurt with the withdrawal symptoms. They were ungodly awful.
Unknown2005-07-21 21:23:11
You also would force (dominate, pooka) people to do it once, and they would be in withdrawel for the rest of their life. Not cool.
Unknown2005-07-21 21:57:00
We could just have it non-forceable. And shouldn't you eventually finish going through withdrawl? I never used it (since I didn't play Achaea very much) but it would be logical that at _some_ point you don't need it anymore.
Anarias2005-07-22 07:22:31
Withdrawal symptoms stopped after six or seven hours of playing time.
Unknown2005-07-22 14:28:54
Meh, I had heard it was permenant. I like withdrawl going away after a while - drugs would be good hear.
