I keep seeing people say well i am getting bored with this IC and OOC so here you are tell us why it's boring you or why it's not boring you have fun.
Richter2005-07-02 08:54:04
I think if we were bored of Lusternia, we wouldn't be on the forums.
Gwylifar2005-07-02 12:45:21
The results don't quite bear that out.

"Bored" isn't the word I'd have used, but the effect is much the same. The ratio of stuff I want to be doing to stuff I get stuck suffering through wobbles this way and that, but averaged out, I don't think it's coming out where it needs to be.

I feel bad about this because suffering through Aetolia has actually raised my standards, not lowered them as you'd expect, because now I have the memory of letting it go and how right that was; so now I am less tolerant of having too much not-fun, and that's kind of unfair because on balance Lusternia is a thousand times better than Aetolia. Just, not quite good enough even so.

In my opinion we need more individual events to distinguish each day from the next, other than the villages revolting etc.
Amaru2005-07-02 13:46:30
'Getting there' sums it up.
Gregori2005-07-02 13:56:21
Lusternia's problem in my opinion is that it came out with promise and hope and very quickly turned into little better than a senseless violence game.

All the beautiful history, areas, and ideas don't amount to an ounce of squat if you are constantly being forced into one fight or another over one thing or another so have no time to do any form of RP with those.

Yes we would or some of us anyway. Some may get on the forums to chat with people because they like the people, but the game is getting boring. For me this is my case i get on these to read what people say and stuff because i like hearing what some of you have to say. But in general the game is getting a little boring logging on to bash for five hours or go kill people can get old. Now this is for me anyway.

I love Lusternia, don't get me wrong. The potential it has for glorious roleplay is awesome. Unfortunately, everything seems to be becoming about combat now. If I wanted to fight every time I logged on, well hell I'll go play a FPS, at least I go into it expecting to die every damn time I get there. The more combat takes over everything, the less I am enjoying things.

I quit coming online quite a while ago. I just moved on to other games dunno.gif I still come to wander the forums from time to time though smile.gif

Very very close to being completely boring. I log in.. If there's fighting(quite often) I go defend Celest in complete silence, since I have no avenues of communication. My other option is to go bash.. in complete silence.

Quite often I just log in and wonder why I spend $1k on this game.

I'm reaching the point where it's just not worth it.. I log in and I'm bored.. If I don't log in and work my ass off, Celest won't let me in. It's been almost 3 weeks at this point, I'm really losing steam.

I'm thankful for the people who do socialise a bit with me, few and far between as they are. I think they're about the only thing that keeps me from just saying censor.gif it. At what point is Celest's leadership going to get past their old grudge? I wish i knew.

EDIT: Watch your language. ~Shiri~

I still like it. Maybe because I haven't really been totally addicted like some of you, so I haven't burned myself out.
Jairdan2005-07-02 20:26:47
I have my moments, but, then, I always have that certain group of people who i've met that make the game worth while. That's what its about for me.. the people, and even if there is constant fighting, I still get to interact with that group that made me enjoy the game.

I'm bored sad.gif

Only reason I ran into guards with divinefire was because I was utterly bored.. if I don't find something to do soon I'll go and thunderclap at the Megalith just because.. sad.gif sad.gif

Ekard2005-07-02 22:28:47
I dont think its boring.
And we haev a nice ammount of events. Gorgogs event just closed and rigth now we have this one with this Aquamancers and Geomancers illnes.
And i'm trying to help, just to not go for boring bashing astral.

So if you would only want you would find something to do and not get bored.
Unknown2005-07-02 22:29:59
I don't really find Lusternia amusing anymore... I just log in do to my job, which I guess is a subconcious attempt at improving something that I had staked my hopes on for others.

Sure, I have some ideas for that, in fact I have a huge list of 'em. Let's all meet at--

Raid on !

Okay, that's over, now we can talk about--

Village open!

Phew, that was hard. So, we were going to-- It's time for that quest again? Damn, right, okay.

Well, that was no fun. Now, about that-- what's that, you need to hunt to make up all that exp and essence you lost? All right, I'll teach this novice, you do that. We'll try again tomorrow.

I play IRE games for the one on one combat and political intrigue. The more or less flawless system (unless you go to Glomdoring where you've got your divinely appointed morons) means little political intrigue. There's almost no one on one combat because there's no bashing areas or gathering places on prime, no point to go to elemental, no common accesibility or point to go to cosmic, and astral being a ridiculous affair to navigate. Basically, the two reasons I got hooked on IRE games don't exist in Lusternia. I come for the RP, but I can RP and get the other stuff over in Imperian or aetolia.

Incidentally, only 5 of the 10 originally appointed remain. And most of those left are definitely not morons. They're working on it, sheesh.

Anyway, I'm not bored, except for like a few hours at a time, like the day before yesterday. I still am not sure why I don't get burnt out from all the conflict, though. blink.gif Went in and died like 3 or 4 times to Kaervas/Daevos/ShieldStunMan/Marsu/Kaervas'PsychoticTaintwyrm yesterday, and it didn't really bother me.

At this point and time, I'm not sure. I love to RP and I'm trying to get into it. That what makes the game fun for me. I started playing back when Lusternia frist started, then I left. I read about Astrology, was interested and came back.

I've found that most games have their focus, plus two or three other things that can be done. With this game, sometimes I think the focus is bashing and PK, with RP, exploring, etc being the other things that are fun to do, but most of the playerbase doesn't do. That's when I don't have fun. But other times, with some players, I do see that RP is the main focus while the other things come in second - and that's when it is fun. I guess it just depends on what's going on.

Does that make any sense to anyone? I'm taking a break from writing this paper on Marxism. I've been working on and off all day, so my writing/thinking skills aren't the best right now.
