Curses

I just found out to my expense that cursed items are completely unremovable until they decay (didn't notice the bug fix for rubbing to remove the cursing), and you can't even ask the Divine to tear the items from your body and destroy them (or whatever they want to do to them). This to be honest doesn't make much sense for me, because where there is a curse, there should be a counter-curse or the like.

What I would like to see, is SOME in game way of being able to remove them. Wether its an exorbitant price in gold paid to a Divine's Order or an extremely complicated overly long quest just to remove one item, I would LOVE to have some way to be able to remove them, even if it lost you the item in the process. Just for the roleplay opportunities it opens up really, 99% of the time I never have a reason to remove my cursed stuff anyway, but that 1% of the time I would like to have some option open to being able to get rid of it.

I think there was a thread about it long time ago, as I remember posting about it. I thought there should be a way to remove curses, be it costly (10 power, whole powerstone), time consuming (several minutes?), and of course only able to be done at enchanter's pentagram.

Then I found out there's rubbing and felt stupid and ignorant, posting about something that's already there.

Now it turns out it was a bug all along. sad.gif

There definatly should be a way to remove curses, the skill exists to be beneficial after all, right? It's not like you can use it on enemies, as it can only be done in pentagram. (Well, maybe in some evil plot, like selling or giving someone cursed item. But what would be the point really?)

It also applies for when you change archetypes. The armour you happen to be wearing if not suited to your class is useless, and you can't even get it removed so you can get armour for your new archetype until it decays.

I would even settle for something like praying at at Divine's fulcrux for day or three and it taking 50% reserves if there was a chance you could eventually get the offending items removed, but even that isn't open to us.

Actually, I can see a few ways you could use it to harm someone, though they could be kind of tough to pull off. You'd have to force the other person to remove armor, then give your cursed, crappy armor to your opponent, and finally force your opponent to wear the cursed armor.

Yeah, that might not be incredibly hard with vestiphobia and pooka in hexes, since you can wear stuff off-equilibrium. I don't think anyone's been -that- much of a griefer yet though.

Think about it.
Screwed forever.
If it's a warrior with this best armor of theirs, which never decays.
Even for everyone else, few months in the worst leather armor. Or greatrobes, without proofings.

Well I have an that doesn't decay that I don't want to ever remove, but if I got it cursed, I'd REALLY never be able to remove it. It also takes up the same slot as the Celestine Champion Artifact (one reason why I'm glad I never made the decision to get it cursed way back then). Said items that never decay then cursed must suck sad.gif

I liked the idea of rubbing off curses, but that also makes vestiphobia and such abilities useless. But then also in my opinion, vestiphobia in its current form is a horribly griefy skill that steals peoples armour. Removing the item yes, throwing on the floor no sad.gif

Curses that can't be removed almost reduces the curse skill to a level of pointlessness that people won't use much... *shrugs*
