When I first started playing Lusternia, I thought 'There's only three archetypes?!". I was used to Achaea which to me was a whole mess of random different classes.

But now I know, it really isn't like that. I think it's really clever the way that from three archetypes, there can be so many different 'classes', or types of people. Within one guild, there is a range of different types.

I was just randomly thinking how ingenious the way it's been done here is, and just wanted to say nice one! smile.gif

That's just one of the things I love about this game. You can be a part of an organization and still have your own style and individuality. Plus, it's great to work together with your own guild and use the different skills to their max effectiveness.

Achaea was better when it only had a few classes.

Thanks for the feedback! When we first opened, I admit I too was disappointed that we weren't able to offer more skill choices for the archetypes. We had planned that everyone would get 3 choices but settled for 2, with the exception of mages and druids who received no skillchoices (for those not around back then, there was only runes available). I wasn't pleased that mages and druids didn't get a skillchoice but, unfortunately, dreamweaving was the next skill slotted for them and it offered the most difficult problems to code. Thus, there was no way we could have prepared it in time, and it became a case of open with what we had or postpone opening indefinitely. My apologies to mages and druids! Hopefully, we're making it up to you.

Anyway, I'm pleased that you see the intent of the skill system design to offer different branches within each guild in order to customize and give variety. mage.gif

Even though i complain alot, i do LOVE lusternia and how all the skills and archtypes work, the real only realistic wish i have for lust, is possible a immolation place that can be used by everyone, except instead of it using some cities/communes power, it takes half the person who immolates power, that way there is still a cost but its open for everyone.

I adore the amount of customization available to the classes. I'd still like to see more Warrior specializations - alternatives to bonecrusher/blademaster, for example - and an alternative for illusions, however.

Psht, stop moaning on my worshipping the divine thread! tongue.gif

Well personally I just love playing characters for the builds on other games... in Mud's that a bit more difficult, but the amount of variety available to each archetype is nice. No two mages should be the same and that's the way things are.

However, people are noticing a clear trend of Psionics > Dreamweaving > Runes in both coolness and effectiveness. Once there's a bit of free time, perhaps sprucing up Runes especially to make it a little more exciting.

This varying skillset idea does add a lot to the overall flavour of Lusternia and I'm glad to see such good work going into the game biggrin.gif

I think this is the most tightly knit player base too.

I love you all.

We should deem one day of the year Lusternia Day, and treat it like our Thanksgiving and celebrate it.

And all have a massive party in Richter's mansion! (Yeah i bet you have a mansion! tongue.gif)

About the comment with Pisonics>Dreamweaving>Runes...

Runes have an economic purpose as well as combat, and Dreamweaving has a political purpose as well as combat. From what I've ssen Psionics is basically just Combat.

Everything has its balances.

I think this is what keeps me around, even when I get frustrated at small things. The sheer variety of things I can do...I could make 4 characters, all the same "class"...and each one of them could be unique in their own way. That's so damn cool to me. I hate being cookie-cutter...that's boring boring boring. You guys rock for the way you're putting things together, and if it's not said often enough, please forgive us.

Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you!!

When you stop doing 9 wounding per normal strike, sure.

*facepalm* He said skill changes, as in more variety, not upgrades.

No greifing in the admin compliment thread!
