What would be the best guild for around 5k lessons? One that can bash and PvP well. I wanted something tanky with good damage, (really wanted a Knight) but since I don't have enough to Trans Athletics, Blademaster/Bonecrusher, get good weapons and elemental runes, I think that might be out of the picture. I was gonna go Mage with Psionics but then I realised that demesnes would be a royal pain in the ass and a big timewaster for me. Plus I'd hate being restricted to an area. Guardians, the other choice, is very affliction based, and I prefer damage over that.
What do you think is the most effective character I could get with around 5k lessons? May buy an extra 600 credits more too later on if I really like it . I prefer Magnagora/Glomdoring guilds though.

go nihilist, they are pretty tanky as compared to a knight, they get putre and trans guildskills will get you good PVP ability if you have skill

Will Nihilists be good for bashing? Cosmicfire seems ridiculously weak to other players in pure damage compared to Mage staves and Warriors. Is the mob damage it does different (ie would Cosmicfire and staff damage be closer against mobs than it is against other players?). I'm thinking I'd be more of a basher, but with occasional fighting too.
Shiri2005-07-04 02:20:47
Cosmicfire sucks for bashing. Absolutely sucks.
Nyla2005-07-04 02:29:35
Go Blacktalon.. hehehehe..
Cudgel is the best for bashing not so good PvP
Plus the unknown third skill *squeal*
Runes is meh very costly

Warriors are never the most interesting classes, if you look at almost any RP game or Fantasy novel. They are your straight hack-n-slash type class. Warriors here are different from the other classes based on original design. That said, we have something special for you.

Ooer, maybe I'll buy 700 extra and get Elemental runes if the feature is cool . I meant to use the 600-700 extra for Resilience though. Argh. Decisions, decisions.
Daganev2005-07-04 02:42:54
I don't think elemental runes are as necessary as you make it sound.
Maedhros2005-07-04 02:46:47
From the general feel I get from the forums, seems that Warriors without runes are useless against anyone half decent at curing. Doesn't affect bashing though, but getting weapons will be a pain in the ass. I wish I could get my Sword back from my shrub, had a 189 damage Broad and another one that was like 170/150/170.
Daganev2005-07-04 02:51:43
What Elemental runes do is they change -SOME- of your damage into elemental damage, so if your not doing tons of damage elemental runes will help a bit, but really I think the case is that people who have elemental runes have also gotten the best weapons possible.
I have elemental runes and see almost no change from before. Being a good curer doesn't change the fact that they are still only healing damage, Elemental runes just makes it so that people with Trans Resilence are not resisting as much as before.
In Fact, every good fighter in the ebonguard does NOT have elemental runes.

You don't have to have runes.
Malicia2005-07-04 03:13:42
Maedhros, Serenguard MOON. Do it.
Revan2005-07-04 03:29:19
Go Geomancer, Maedros. We have Psionics!
Vesar2005-07-04 03:46:26
So do Aquamancers!
Maedhros2005-07-04 03:53:14
Yeah I -really- wanted a Mage. Are they effective at all without demesnes? The main reason I'm undecided is cause I would hate doing all the work to set up a demesne, and I'd have to hide around in it.
Serenguard sounds fun, but I think the only way I'd join is if I decide to buy more credits; I prefer Glom/Mag cause my RL friend is in one of those (and they're both Tainted), and I probably won't have enough to get high in Totems/Necromancy/Sacraments, so a Serenguard would be the same as an Ur'Guard.

The demesne thing is being worked on...I think? Psionics is damn good, anyway, and that's out-of-demesne, especially with illusions. Geomancers are actually a good call.
Revan2005-07-04 04:51:28
Psionics is basically amazing in OR out of a demesne. You won't need one if you're a psionist.

Recruiting efforts aside, Geo Psionists are damn tanky. I do believe they would be your best bet with your limited lessons. You'd have some really nice shields and psiarmour for hunting, and some very nice options for pvp, outside or in a demesne.
Ekard2005-07-04 08:08:16
Psiarmour is working on mobs?
Ok now i'm think even more strongly about Aquamancer, but i love to be Paladin
