Charles Clarke just confirmed that the COBRA meeting was told this morning that there are over 50 fatalities, so that's the latest number.

COBRA? Like, from G.I. Joe? *snigger* At any rate, MSNBC yesterday afternoon was saying 74 fatalities, some of which were post-incident - although, it's MSNBC.

But, but.. Who didn't like G.I. Joe? I mean, it failed miserably in all attempts to instill some form of patriotism in me, but it was amusing.
But I guess yours makes more sense - nobody wants to think of the Prime Minister as a member of the most infamous terrorist organization to ever cross my television screen.

I was in London at the time if me and my mates had taken the later train we would have been at Kings Cross at 9 o'clock we were lucky we were at Charing when the boms were going off.
We ended up getting stranded in London though like many others.

it's funny how fate does that to you..my friend's from england, and something like that happened to her aunt and uncle too..if they'd gotten on to a later train..

I live 12 miles away from the centre but I have friends who work in central london, they are all ok. My dad is usualy in central london on Thursdays, but luckily he had changed his schedule just the day before! They were closing the tube stations as I was getting into work, it was really strange watching it unfold, because first they said it was a power surge. Then they announced the bus explosion... horrible stuff
I live near northolt airbase, and there were chinook helicopters flying over that afternoon. I definately feel a little more nervous now on the bus to work, infact I may cycle in today. One good thing was the way people pulled together. Even out where we work the tubes where shut and buses disrupted, but lots of people at work offered to give stranded colleagues a lift home.
