FF X-2 was disgusting.
And I was a hardcore nintendo fan for years, thought PS was the devil, then I got hooked on PS2. If Xbox puts out what it says it's going to, I might just switch to the 360. The new Nintendo systems don't interest me nearly as much as they used to, when they dominated the home console market.

On topic, I think I'd get the Xbox 360. I see its online service as a major part of gameplay, and it seems to be more comprehensive. Also, most of the games I like will be released for it.
I might have considered the PS3, but I seem to remember one of the designers being quoted as saying, "... the PS3 will not be a game machine." Damn it, I don't want to buy something that plays DVDs and CDs just so I can get a machine to play games; those are just the extras that I got when I bought an Xbox.

Just for the record, my gamer evolution.. NES --> Genesis, then SNES --> N64 --> PS2 --> Brief N-Gage (EWWWWW) --> PSP -->(Xbox360+Ps3, Nintendo.. I'm sorry, but I hate you now.)

My PS2 has been broken for a year and a half so I haven't played anything new in a year and a half (it dropped 3 times), so instead of spending money to repair it I'll just wait for PS3 . Does anyone know how much it'll cost by the way??
Richter2005-07-16 00:00:13
There is no price as of yet, but gossip is that the systems will be in the neighborhood of $300, erring on the side of a higher price.
Also, as game development costs rise, and we haven't really seen a game price jump in a bit, rumour has it that we will start to see $60 games.
And those that think the PS3 is going to be a flop, check out the power of their dual processors. I think I'm going to reserve judgement on these new systems, because they all (well... maybe not Nintendo...) have some serious potential.

Well, I bought PS2 on the first day it was released for around $450 (with Controllers, memory card and stuffs), so I think PS3 should be around there, maybe a bit more.
Anyone who likes FF should play FFX. Awesome game, amazing graphics and a new (albeit a little annoying at the beginning) level up system. The story is pretty solid too, plus there's so much stuff you can do after the game (I have over 105 hours on ONE of my save files, where all my characters have 20k HP and do 99, 999 every attack ).
X-2 has stunningly amazing graphics, but you won't notice that cause you'll be too busy trying to pull out your ears cause of the MOST ANNOYING GAME MUSIC YOU WILL EVER HEAR. Plus the FFX female characters have all been bastardized into ditzy sluts. The class system? Use "dress spheres" to become even more sluttier and gain some powers. The storyline sucks, but it's mostly an "Open RPG" (LOAD of sidequests). Oh and the Al Bhed who is on the Airship named Brother is turned into a stupid lump of with an IQ of 10 and random retarded body movements.
Did I mention the most annoying music you will ever hear?

If Nintendo didn't lose its third parties like Rare (which wasa huge bust. Rare made someof the BEST Nintendo games), it would still be cool. The only thing that's still hooking me is the new Zelda. I'll buy a PS3 for the FF's and the other multitude of RPGs. Xbox is my Halo and KOTOR machine, mostly. In all honesty though, I MIGHT buy a Revolution ONLY because of it's super backwards compatability. That's it's strongest point over the other consoles.
And yes, FFX-2 sucked major goat cahones

I was a fan of FFX-2. If you went into it expecting it to be like FFX, you were bound to be let down. You have to take it as it comes. And honestly, I bet people would complain if they didn't make the girls slutty, so whatever, you kind of just have to get past it. Rikku is my favorite FF female, so I really enjoyed the game. I also really enjoyed all of the side quests, because I knew it wasn't going to really be a true FF game, just a questing game.
ANYHOW, I'll probably wait a year or two to buy the new consoles, as I always do. But I'll definitely be buying the PS3 (for FF games and such) and Revolution (Twilight Princess, ZOMG!) at some point. After they're marked down 100-150 dollars of course.
A Chrono sequel is soo necessary, I don't want to hear about a new addition to the Seiken Densetsu series :|. *chants* Chrono break! Oh well, I can dream.

I want the Revolution for the sake that they have downloadable games (and many games that weren't available in the US). Here are the games that caught my interest:
Now that's an EXTENSIVE list right there. Not only that, but the Rev's supposed to have free online capabilities (besides what you pay for your regular internet connection).
But I'm probably gonna end up buying all 3 anyway, but I'm buying Rev first.

NES
Duck Hunt (There has to be a gun now, I wonder if anyone will make gun games for the Revolution because of that, we haven't really had any games like that since the SNES and the Super Scope)
Fire Emblem Gaiden
Fire Emblem: Ankokuryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi (I squeed and clapped at these, they better translate them or I will hurt someone)
Mother (Earthbound)(It seems to be some sort of crime if you haven't played Earthbound in some form. o_O)
Gyromite (Erm... dosen't that require R.O.B? ;;)
Dance Aerobics (That needed the Power Pad right?)
SNES
Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo
Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 (I didn't squee at this, they just better get translated! )
Kirby Super Star
Kirby's Dream Course (I've played these Kirby games before, and enjoyed them throughly, it never occured to look for the carts. XD I should really make a list of carts I need to find...)
Mario Paint (Ummm.... didn't this need a mouse?)
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (2 games I really liked and never owned, SMK is uber hard, and SMRPG is the only game that I've wanted badly enough to try to get a rom for it, it didn't work.)
Super Metroid (It also seems to be a great sin if you don't play this.)
Super Scope 6 (Ummm.... gun?)
Tetris Attack (I <3 tetris. XD)
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario World 2 (I don't care if I already have it and still works, this is my favorite SNES game, this is the only Mario re-make that I considered buying, but I never did.)
N64
1080° Snowboarding (A great game I never got the chance to get)
Banjo-Tooie (Rented it, liked it, bought it and never played it, and my N64 is being a spazz)
Cruis'n USA (have it, but like a said before, spazzing N64)
Cruis'n World (I love the Cruis'n series, but the only one I ever got was USA)
Excitebike 64 (I like the original, I played this one at Wal*Mart once but couldn't grasp the 3D ness of it, and then I accidentially switched it to NES mode and rocked at it. XD)
Hey You, Pikachu! (Microphone?)
Pilotwings 64 (Great game, never bought it)
Pokemon Stadium: Gold, Silver, Crystal Version (They better make a transfer pack of some sort...)
Star Wars Episode I: Racer (Played the PC version and it rocked, never got the chance to get the game...)
StarCraft 64 (Never got this, and I don't have to put in on my PC again! I keep deleting it shortly after I put it on. XD)
Tetrisphere (I like Tetris, and this sounds interesting XP)
The Legend of Zelda DD (Ura Zelda) (Master Quest in America) (I needed to delete my file due to space issues...)
Wave Race 64 (Another game I loved and never got)
Bomberman 64 (Always wanted to try it... and the NES one rocks. XD)
Satteleview games (I'm guessing only Japan releases..)
BS Zelda (It's Zelda, nuff said. XP)
64 DD games (Also only Japan)
Mario Artist: Communication Kit,Paint Studio,Polygon Studio, Sound Studio, Talent Studio (Sounds like some updated Mario Paint... I'm intrigued...)

Didn't work at work.
And if you want to know what's what with the new systems, buy Game Informer. If you've got a Gamestop, Babbages, or a few other places, they'll give you a 10% of used games card, and a year of Game Informer for $7.
And I'm drooling over the TES 4: Oblivion stuff. Lusternia is going to not be a priority until I beat that, once purchased.

Is that a full year for $7, or $7 for each issue? Also, I think the link Fain gave was for the PC, judging by the tools they showed.
Richter2005-07-20 23:48:17
$7 for 10 issues and card. They might have raised it to $10 recently. *chin*
That's if you start the subscription in-store though, if you do it by mail you don't get a card and it's $19.98.
Works at gamestop, funcoland, babbages, software etc, and planet X.
