I camped the gorgog quest today, to see how much it'd get me, and I made ~250K gold in various hours, isn't a quarter milion in mere hours a little excessive?

I dont know but I was killed by Gorgogs thrice trying to get some spectres on Yasthane.

They don't really afflict... they just have two large attacks, a fire and an air one, that do a heckuva lot of damage.

Yea. I saw you there camping there how long how you have neen sitting there?
I get 11750gp for one run + gold droped by gorgogs so total would be around 14-15k.
How did you get 250k?? You have been sitting there for 8 hours??

EDIT: And i don't think that they give too much gold, it is good for those that dotn have link in Planar and want to ear some gold, and number of gorgogs is limited aswell. So if number of people camping there will rise they wont be so good gold income anymore.

Unlike Celestians, I kill the merians as well, and turn them into Gognigin, then I do all the parts of the honours quest itself, each giving more gold, experience and karma on their own.

So you see for some peoples this will be only 125k not 250k. I wont be killing merians and if Ekard will see you doing it he may be pissed.

I had tons of celestians seeing me kill merians, they didn't seem to care all that much..

Someone tell me where this gold is coming from. Bashing or quests?

I know Marinus pays 450 per corpse of a gorgog, I imagine Gognigin pays the same for merians.. That's about 25k there, per run(plus whatever they drop).

The vast majortity of the gold in circulation comes from Astral bashing.

Just out of idle curiousity, do you guys have any way to check how much gold exists? And if so, care to tell us?

Edit: As a fun suggestion, if you can tell how much gold exists.. You guys should see how much gold is produced in 24 hours.. I think the results would really surprise you.

Edit2: Just to add some thoughts.. The inflation rate in Lusternia is absolutely nuts. We really need more moneysinks, in addition to nerfs to the amount of gold entering the system.The longer things continue as they are, the worse the economy's going to get

450 per gorgog to marinus, 250 per merian to gognigin, plus lots of money for the various quest parts.

The quests. On their own, the gorgogs drop less gold than the Astral critters, AFAIK. But they respawn pretty fast, so even that might be a trouble. The quest money ON TOP of that just raises it to impossible levels. As I told Thorgal like 3 times, it's better than Astral.

If so, it makes it more dangerous than astral, cause you may well have to pray if some angry celestians get in there.
