Libraries, people, libraries. We have 40 some copies in our system, and only 98 holds as of today. You'd get a copy in 2 weeks.

Libraries = good.

You do realize you're making work for yourself?

I went at midnight to get the book and I don't think it was worth it. Boring and Predictable. And full of fanfic like parings.

Acrune2005-07-17 06:47:58
Wee, just finished it. Went out and bought it after work, at 3:15 pm, with no copy reserved, and 30% off the price. Go me. Just finished it at 2:15 am. I enjoyed it, even though some of the actions of the characters I really question. Still, you all need to get it and read it now tongue.gif

All the shops here offered it at around half RRP. I really enjoyed it too biggrin.gif. No lines either. I got so frustrated at parts, and now I can't wait until the 7th, but I'll soon not even think about it heh, just like last time. (Released at 11.01 am here while I was at work grr)

Wow, you guys read fast! I do too, but the most I could read is 2-3 straight without getting an headache. I once read for about 6 hours, taking a break here and there of course. But I was getting my hair braided and I needed something to do while my but went numb.

Anyway about the Robert Jordan. I vowed that I would not buy another WoT book untill I see that there is an end. I'm thinking his books will go on and on untill the end of time.

It is revealed that Hagrit is an agent of Voldemort. Hermione dies when Hagrit murders her. Snape tries to ressurect her after revealing that he is Dumbledor's grandson, but his magics are not strong enough. Harry Potter and Draco settle their differences, and after becoming new best friends decide to beat up Ron and steal his lunch money every Tuesday for being a redhead.
Unknown2005-07-18 18:53:09
...Are we reading the same book, Roark? I think you read a fanfic. Hagrit takes Hermoine as a wife - and she becoms Lady Voldemort. Duh.
Richter2005-07-18 19:08:24
Hagrid?

And I get to read the book after my mom and sister do. Based on the fact they're both on summer break (parents are teachers), that'll be in about two days. happy.gif

I love Dan Koontz. I hear that his newest book is awesome. I can't think of the name though.

But I feel you on that though. I was the same way with the Fellowship of the Ring series. The movies made me very interested inthe books, but I just couldn't get into the books. Also, I've never seen a Harry Potter movie, but there's a lot of hype around both things. That was made want to give it a try.
Richter2005-07-18 20:57:48
Dan Koontz?
Acrune2005-07-18 21:12:25
Really? I always, always enjoy the books more then the movies. blink.gif
Unknown2005-07-18 22:18:19
Opps, its Dean Koontz. I'm terrible with names. Here's a link to his latest: Velocity

I actually haven't read the books. I think I will wait for the movies. I used to be a huge fantasy and sci-fi reader, but for the last couple of years I have been exclusivly hooked on philosophy and economics books. (Seriously. Don't laugh!)
