I think the thing about the original artist's style.. When I first started I was a master and copying anything like a machine. People thought it was cool then I started to hate it because I wasn't original. So I guess I still retain the ability to borrow styles. Mainly I noticed they had outlines (not that you can make out the outline of the portal in mine ) and I sampled colors from the pictures.

I'm sure it's not anything like "Spartan" would envision but I tried.

About the Flaming ovals; I interpretted the Portal a a physical stargate like thing.. (Not that I watch that ..) so I just made flames .. near it..

The Runes and symbols I used are anything from actual runes to elvish script and the alphabet.

I actually like Daganevs it's kinda what I wanted but I can't do with the programs I have. Except I'm not sure if the Eqyptian glyphs fit with the Fates' Greek origins.

I saw the movie when it first came out. I haven't seen it since. But that's still what I saw.

In so far as the gate, I didn't see anything in the description about an actual physical ring or anything. I just saw oval and golden flames. I also saw symbols on a spacious cavern too, so I tried to keep as strict to the description as I could. *shrug* I hope mine wins, but I honestly like some of the ring designs I'm seeing in the other entries.

I honestly didn't mind, but there were several people asking me a million questions on 3 different clans - and then someone and I were on a clan laughing our asses off at you/the situation.

I'm not saying the ring is nice or anything. I honestly like yours quite a bit - perhaps with Daganev's "a dark plane", I would think it was perfect. I just get hung up on the mimicing the artist's style.

Honestly, I think you'll win. Although I think Jadryga does have a good chance, and Daganev too - despite I think his is a bit too... Brushie?

The portal is in the middle of the mountains of avecha, why aren't we seeing mountains?! A small, rocky cave countaining the portal would make sense methinks.

I think he means there should be some rocks around the cave, make it look like it is sitting on a mountain.

Ohhhh. Okay. Iunno, I don't mind it without. I think that might sorta detract from the feel of it.

Anyway, they all are looking grand. I do want to point out that the decision on which one we'll use is not going to wholly be my decision (don't ask--I'll tell you later).

Also, just as another idea to throw out if you aren't into the oval portal, something a little more symbolic and in some ways may work better--a doorway opening up into another a planar gateway--i.e., an artistic rendition of our icon that's used on zMud and TMS:

You need to size that icon so it's not all weird looking when I try to use it in zMUD.



I personally like Jad's the best so far.

The room discription has smooth walls, its pretty well carved out an all mystical, so only way your reall going to notice the mountain is with Ialie's version. (which rocks ofcourse)

None of you people have succeeded at mimicing the artist's style at this point, I warrant to say no one has even come remotely close to his style and as such none of you are keeping to the original assignment.

Please add abnormally sized breasts somewhere in your pictures.
