Hey. I know I'm still a newbie, but I was talking to two different non-newbies who who didn't know where I could find anything like this either, and who both thought it would be a good idea to have something like it.
The idea: A complete list of all the skills learned in each subject, and how many lessons needed to get them.
This way, if I currently have 10 lessons, for example, I can decide whether I want to spend 10 on Healing versus 10 on Totems versus 5 on each, depending on which method will get me what useful skills, if any.
I guess the questions are, Does anyone know of something like this already? And, Are there any reasons this is actually a bad idea? (Maybe we prefer trial and error?) And, if the answer to both of those is No, what's the next step?

Hopefully, your guild has a list of what skills to learn with how many lessons, I know ours does.
If it doesn't someone needs their butts kicked.

Ack, did we miss getting you your initial training, Quilya? Too many new Seekers this past week.
For your immediate purposes (while still a novice, and after learning your initial training requirements), we put the priority on learning as far as you can in Totems, then Nature, so you can gain the specializations upon graduation.
So far as posting complete skill lists and such, it's been my understanding that doing so is frowned upon ... at least for guild skills. Knowing approximately or specifically how many lessons you need to spend to learn certain things, you generally have to ask the right people. I recommend asking Nejii. Nejii knows all!
Or ask me when next you see me, I know a bit about some things too. I'll try to be around again in about .... another 5-6 hours or so, after class.

No. Because it is heavily looked down upon by the player-base, and the administration. It's just a preference. However, Jalain's Wiki does have ab files for common-skills. I'll find it for you when I get home.

I haven't been able to access the Wiki for quite some time now ... not sure if it's just me or if it's actually gone. Last known URL was at www.ironportal.org
If it moved, someone let me know!

Nah, I didn't get skipped over. I was told how to spend my first ones, and I did read the help file that recommends to go all the way in Nature and Totems. But I wanted to know, for myself, which first, and maybe I could spend some on other things first (I want to learn healing)... surely we're not all supposed to blindly follow? I guess the main thing is, my character is not one to place priority on killing things to get experience, she's very shy and cautious and so it really matters to me where I spend the credits I get, because they come slowly.
However, I can certainly understand that it would be looked down upon, to have a complete list. Useful, yes, overly useful, perhaps. That link doesn't work for me, so I'll wait until I see this "Wiki" to say more. Thanks!

As I said, the Wiki only shows basic, general skills (if my memory serves). That's like Planar, Low/High Magic, Combat, Environment, Discipline, Discernment. Things everyone has.
And, while I've never been a Moondancer, I imagine you SHOULD follow their instructions for novice-learning. A lot of the skills (Like trout and monkey in totems, flow in Nature) are irrelevant to combat, but necessary for easy/general travel.
That said, every level you gain, you get 5 lessons. When you hit lvl (10? I think..) 15, 20, 25 you get 5 neocredits - then from 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 You get 10 neocredits. Both are in addition to your 5 per level. Each neocredit is worth 6 lessons. You will have plenty of time to learn some Healing (Heck - do an honors quest, and you'll gain between five and ten levels JUST from that).

At risk of hijacking a topic:
2 User(s) are reading this topic (0 Guests and 0 Anonymous Users)
2 Members: Gaetele, Galatae
o.o EERILY SIMILAR. OMG.
Anyway, skill-lists would completely take the lack of need for experience out of the game. I like not knowing any skills and just fooling around with what new things happen to me (which explains why Gaetele has been in every archetype ).

You're right, not 65. Sorry.

(I just want to clarify at this point that I *did* listen to the recommendations for spending my first lessons. I like individuality, but not at the risk of idiocy... It's the 5 or so every level after that with which I wanted my freedom )
