Subj: Artisan Trade Skill

The dwarf Barl Cleaver has revealed a new skill in Lusternia: Artisan!
This trade skill that is available to everybody and deals with the
crafting of furniture and other small items. Furniture can only be
crafted in certain rooms, such as manses, guildhalls and a few other
places found in cities and communes. City and commune leaders, if
there's a room you think ought to have furniture, please contact your
respective patrons.

Many furniture pieces have practical uses. One of these uses is that a
desk and chair will be required in order to write in letters or
journals. This requirement won't be implemented for a week or so until
there are enough desks and chairs in the land.

It should be further noted that the Artisan craft is a fairly expensive
craft, especially at the upper levels. See HELP ARTISAN for further
details.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Avechary, in the year 122 CE.

We got owned.
Xenthos2005-07-16 17:01:30
Hah, yes, we did.

Wait, wait, wait.

No axe specialization?

A pox on your ancestors and obscurity for your progeny, Barl! Curses!

From what I've seen the uses of the various types of furniture seems pretty nifty, using drapes to cloak a room in darkness, tapestries to hide exits, tables to improve hero fetes, rocking chairs to regenerate willpower, beds to regenerate endurance..

Hmm, maybe now is the time I should think about buying a room in Deepnight... cool.gif

I want hammocks to do the same as rocking chairs, for us outdoorsy folks. smile.gif
Malicia2005-07-16 17:55:02
Furniture, hmmmmm? Okay. Nice.

I wish someone would tell me how high beds are.. I know I'm right -at- desks, but I don't have any extra lessons.. crying.gif

I believe this calls for a single-smiley post.

That's all possible with the Artisan skill (though I think we need to add a hammock pattern, but it would work just like a bed except outdoors).

It scares me. The comm costs are huge. Huger than you'd think, even though they mention 'significant amounts of commoidities'
Unknown2005-07-16 18:45:57
what kind of significant amounts are we talking here?
Thorgal2005-07-16 18:48:03
1000 silver for a chandelier for example.

Note they last for a very, very long time. Also, chandeliers have a fairly powerful and useful side effect so we really don't want to see too many--not to mention that they're, well, chandeliers!

(Didn't some of you also complain about Lusternia needing gold sinks?)

Looks like I have some work on my city to do then... biggrin.gif
