I think that the cities should return soon, but not accept new citizens for a while yet, as they get used to the new world. Because it just doesn't make sense that the Cities emerge from being stuck in time, and when their Citizens need them the most, the leaders say "OMG! Hundreds of years have passed! Someone better take over for me so I don't have to deal with this!"
It WOULD make sense that the cities are freed, and they close their books for new citizens. Would have a rat(pigeon) collector and a pest problem, but it would just be an NPC (Non player city) for a while, with quests where players can help either Hallifax or Gaudiguch (like the old Stag/Crow)..
But yeah, they shouldn't be player run for a while.

it has been said many times that the cities are a long time away.
But when they do I'm sure they'll take in the experiences of Glomdoring for when they return them.

Is this thread still active? I didn't bother to read, but I'm sure the Divine are tired of seeing threads like this. They've got so much work to do already! If you want two new cities, here's what you do:
RECRUIT PEOPLE.
See, we need players to populate cities. We need money to run the server and pay Estarra and Roark. Go get more people.
And I agree with Jalain, I've been thinking -kind- of the same thing, that when and if they eventually do come out, they should be kind of like a large, uninfluenceable village.

Hallifax is going to be great! I can't wait to be a cold pompus ass!
Thorgal2005-09-29 11:40:53
They'll be total racists towards everyone but trill and lucidian, so you'd just be my little underdog slave, puny human.
Dysolis2005-09-30 16:08:00
actually if anything it'lll get more chilly , cold is a bit extreem for wind users, not ice users

With the recent recruiting, if our player base skyrockets, then it wouldn't be too farfetched to guesstimate a Guadi/Halli return sometime in the spring/summer
Nayl2005-09-30 16:28:04
I would say, once Glom settles down, and has stable leadership for a month or three, then yea, it'd be a considerable.
Sylphas2005-09-30 23:12:14
As it is, we still struggle to fill positions with people willing, let alone people competent. I'd say our playerbase has to probably double before we could comfortably set up another city.

Unfortunately, I have bad news for you all.
Gaudiguch and Hallifax will not be coming back. This is entirely my fault.
Whilst suffering from mild intoxication and severe malnourishment, I ate the portion of the design document relating to them.
This had absolutely nothing to do with a bet from Raezon. At all.

The key to Gaudi/Hallifax.
On another related note, when they release the nodes from time and we all starcall it call their power to near nothing before it asplodes on our expecting selves, how does that work that it gets filled back up to max for the next time of its release? Does it go back to being trapped and Gaudi is like, "Wtf mate, where's our power" ?

Maybe they've got their own little bubble of astral that we can't get to, were they're actually careful about what happens to the nodes.

The node is a portion of the power from their respective Nexii. The nexii must be drained COMPLETELY, before we can move on to the next step in releasing the cities.
Unknown2005-10-01 21:16:25
I'm sure the people there really appreciate us draining their nexii
Sylphas2005-10-01 22:10:12
They're gonna come back pissed and raze the Basin. -nod me-
Dysolis2005-10-02 04:03:43
haha I'll be geting a good beat down for sure, I was part of the reasson for the last three node's.
Unknown2005-10-02 05:15:02
Yea, anyone else remember when Rexali, Erion, Karrah, Akraasiel - a few others. They'd pump nodes out roughly once every two or three days?
Unknown2005-10-02 05:16:29
I remember one of them stating that every time a node was raised it became more difficult to raise it again, and presenting a lot of evidence to support it.
I remember helping the Guardians search frantically for cobras for hours on end.

Also, I don't think either city should be released from at least a RL year.
Richter2005-10-02 07:18:09
Yes, I believe that is correct, that it gets harder and harder to do that quest. Unfortunately, from what I've gathered from Estarra, that was just a neat little quest they threw togther because of the demand for it, and there's no actual resolution. I'm willing to be that it just goes on and on, the way it is currently set up.
