1) A skill similar to critique to remove unwanted furniture items.. perhaps more closley resembling smelting. Could only work on your own furniture to keep people from losing things to idiots.
2) The ability to create the furniture in your inventory, so they may be stocked in a shop for sale. Perhaps a command like "Place item", in order to add it to the room description. I think if I can carry 300 corpses, I can manage 1 table and 6 chairs.

We thought about that but rejected it. If furniture is to have any use for storing items, they cannot be destroyed. For example, someone has a chest here he stores gold, a cabinet to store clothes and a weapon rack to hold his armor and weapons. Then someone comes along and destroys all his furniture and collects all the items. Not really fair, is it?

This is impossible from a coding standpoint simply because furniture are not 'objects' that can be kept in your inventory.

Gregori's proposal said that only you could destroy your own furniture, which renders the first objection moot, except in the vanishingly small case of dominate-force-destroy-furniture. Seems like the best use of furniture will be vandalism, if Wanda's example is anything to go by.

It doesn't render the objection moot because the artisan who created it can come and destroy it.

Have all things be crafted for someone, then, and on destruction that person will be required to be in the room and 'agree' to the destruction. Like Thrones are designed for someone

I suppose Gregori's wording was vague. I took "your furniture" to be the furniture built for you, not the furniture you built. In any case, it seems like it's at least an addressable concern.

Yay! It has been addressed!

Aye, thank you!

I've already used the skill, and I love it. Thanks!
