Sewers is a fairly high skill in Environemtn... and so far they only help people levels 30 to 60, or really intense ratters.

I'd like to propose that Communes get some sort of "sewer system"... maybe access to weevil tunnels. and instead of sewer grates, its really small weevil cave entrances...

and I'd like to suggest that the mobs in those sewers get a bit buffed so its for people levels 40 - 70/80 instead of 30 to 60.

Or if you make it similar to mag's sewers you can even get it to be a place good for people level 70+

I dunno about communes getting an equivalent, but I'd like to see the sewers have much more. Maybe some secret passageways, etc.

Anyone remember the city of Vivec in Morrowind? There were little hidden temples, bad guys, big rats, bridges, etc. Maybe the sewers could lead into an underground cave-ish area...

Or... not.

Communes do not need a "sewer system". If you want tunnels go hunt bats in Glomdoring.

Damn right, I'll just do all my businesses in the Moon River.
Daganev2005-07-18 22:31:21
Yeah, your right... no need for bashing places close to home, no need to make the skill sewers actually be usefull for people...

silly me! I'm suppose to have skills up near expert and Virt that are useless for half the populations.
Richter2005-07-18 22:47:18
It just doesn't make sense for communes to have sewer-like areas. We can't have -everything- balanced, otherwise serenwilde and Glomdoring would have the same maps, etc!

Yes, Communes shouldn't have locksmiths either!

The rats come from the sewers? the weevils come from?
Gregori2005-07-18 23:25:10
Weevils are tree dwelling insect. You know like a termite.

I don't see why we can't have locksmiths..but if you say so.

And as Gregori said, weevils come from trees. Did you think they come from sewers too?

huh.gif

1. But communes still have doors, that need locking.
2. And weevils are like termites, they reside in wood. happy.gif
Daganev2005-07-18 23:35:27
No, I assumed they lived in undergound tunnel systems like termites and ants and all those other insects...

The point is, I see no reason why Communes should not have access to some place that makes use of the "sewers" skill in Environement. Which all it really does is allow you to fit through small holes like a cat.

And on top of that, I think it would make more sense if Sewers was for higher level chars rather than low level, since its costs so many lessons to get Sewers in the first place.
Daganev2005-07-18 23:36:02
Actually Forest termites live in large holes in the ground, they don't live in the wood, they just eat it.

To see more on Termites and holes.. see the bit bout monkies using tools such as sticks to pull termites out so they can eat them.
Richter2005-07-18 23:39:46
I suppose the easy solution is just don't get enemied. I can access both Magnagoran and Celestian sewers.

And the making sewers a higher level thing... perhaps. It does a take a decent number of lessons to get it. I seem to remember thugs in Aetolian sewers being particularly nasty (though I was a low leveled, no skilled newbie).
Gregori2005-07-18 23:42:55
A hole opens up in a nearby tree as a lumbering red weevil burrows out and falls to the ground.

Looks like they live in trees to me, and even if they did reside in holes in the ground, they don't create 10' tall tunnel systems to move through. So unless you diminish yourself down to size ohhhh... 0.25 or less.. you are SoL.

The body of a dead giant red weevil lies here.
He weighs 12 ounce(s).
You see nothing in it.

I kinda agree with Daganev on this, I'd love for another bashing ground be opened up that was directed more towards the Communes.

What you mean, like every area on Prime, that involves furthering civilisation, or bringing back lost cities, or tainting the lands, or reestablishing the Celestian Empire?

Once you step outside SW you are facing areas that are directed more towards the Communes.

It would be great if sewers were upgraded. More various and tougher mobs for higher level characters and secret tunnels with even tougher ones for highest level players. Maybe even a honor quest deep down there?

You're kidding? I found it rather rediculous back on Achaea when Mhaldor had a frost demon in their sewers, but you want uber mobs and an honor quest too? Seriously, that's not a sewers, that's a catacombs, which we already have one.
