A question from out the blue:
Are there any general utility spells that we've missed or that you can think of would help out the realm? By that I mean something to be used by everyone (or most everyone), such as the kingdom and mercy enchantments (or any enchantment really).

That's a difficult question, as it requires us to think of skills we can't live without (but have been!) and that everyone should have.
And you only gave it 15 minutes before bumping it.

I can't really think of anything "necessary" that isn't here now unless people want to go around screaming "Spiritshields!" but nah (And those are covered to an extent by proofs and other things, no?).

I can think of a couple...
1. Something that lets you see either the location, or just the existance of all the mobs in your area.
2. Something that lets you see which areas are connected to the ones your in.
thats it for now...

We cannot scry for certain items and mobs yet. I know in other games you can.

We should be able to teleport to a mob. They're, by RPing standards, just as real as your character or mine, correct?
Stangmar2005-07-19 21:20:25
i agree with richter on this subject.
I would like an enchantment called 'Nerf' when you are fighting somebody that is overpowered, you rub the enchantment and they lose their guildskills for 3 hours.

Why? Maybe as an artifact. In Aetolia, Tekals could understand all languages. But if it's common, it can make the idea of multiple languages quite useless?
I don't like the idea, languages are not widely used already anyway...

But, unlike players, they don't move around and can't avoid teleporter. When city shield is up, maybe it's not an issue, but when it's not, enemy could just teleport to some NPC from the city... wouldn't that be annoying?

Or players. Like... who's in the village right now. I think there's no such a skill here?

Kashim, a smart city keeps guards at important denizens. Besides, usually people who are determined to kill npcs can get to them anyway.
Unknown2005-07-19 21:43:20
Isn't that a bit too powerful? I could see if you had outposts to villages and a set NPC to teleport to when defending if they're under your influence, but just the ability to teleport to NPC in general is too strong and much too lazy.

I was rather thinking that an enemy group could teleport to the npc to get inside of the city, and go after players without worrying about getting past the guards at the entrances. So all npcs would have to be guarded (quite heavily, like city entrances).
Or couldn't they get into guildhalls that way, teleporting to the guild teacher? Can you place guards there? (Damn, am I clueless. I haven't been in my guildhall for a long time)
Maybe it wouldn't really be such a problem, I'm not knowledgable about maintaining city defences and raiding tactics.

It's also fairly realistic.
