That was a pet peeve of mine from another game. Everyone had it and made the different langauges useless.
Also, this may not be a good idea. But what about a disguise skill/spell, for the shadier types?
Terenas2005-07-19 22:02:10
I know there are some very useful skills I particularly miss from Achaea-
-Skywatch/Treewatch: With so much more emphasis on elevation here, I'd really love to have skills similar to these to let you be notified of others easier.
-Alertness: I miss this skill the most. It was great to know just before you're going to get jumped by someone.

Could you tell how it works?
Daganev2005-07-19 22:10:15
More skills in general that allow you to know where stuff is... whehter it be people objects or mobs.
alertness told you when someone enetered the room adjacent to you.
Also.. eavesdropping... so you can listen to people in the rooms adjacent to you, and so that Blue has a purpose...

I just thought of a skill in Discernment that would allow you to set some kind of aether hook on someone so whenever the person moves you'd be notified where. "You sense that Person moved to Roomname." Something like that, you could track people. Wouldn't work on people with Aethersight on, or maybe everyone could remove that link using some command.
But it would be too powerful, wouldn't it?

Priests/Clerics/Luminaries get it in other realms. It was quite fun.
I'd LOVE Alertness and Elusiveness, even if I do think they would work better (i.e. perfectly) in Stag instead of a common skill or enchantment or something.

Nooo... Environment needs some upgrades! It's sad that it's almost a bunch of useless skills on the way to tumble... (well, not entirely, but for the most part).
Unknown2005-07-19 22:41:17
An alchemic potion that, when thrown or dropped from a high height, destroyed itself and the vial while setting everything in the room on fire and/or just dealing damage to everyone in the room.

So does Stag But yeah, Environment needs it more.

Yea, I like spells that allow you to know where other things/players/npcs are.
I see it as a wiccan and mage divination type spell that uses a mirror or a crystal ball.

Teleport mob would be dumb. Imagine during the Inner Sea:
Mags: *teleport Lanikai* *slaughtercopter Lanikai*
Me: *teleport Ladantine* *slaughtercopter Ladantine*
Not to mention that I could teleport to a skeleton sentry if I wanted to get into Angkrag...

Agreed. As realistic as it might be, it would be silly in terms of the game.

On languages, I don't like the "I know all languages" handwave, but I'd like to have the option to learn languages, via lessons or some other means, one language at a time.
Right now I have come from two directions to the need to be able to cut wood. I can't get a woodsman's axe since forgers can only make axes for battle, which is just one of a jillion obstacles before my attempts to roleplay the entirely harmless act of raising a totem pole. Meanwhile, I can't help noticing the entire world's wood production is enough for about four tables a year. So the fate of furniture depends entirely on whether existing stockpiles will be consumed before existing initial furniture needs -- if not, it'll never catch up. This seems odd, particularly for those of us who live in a forest without any trees but sacred ones, and without any axes but war ones.
Arts needs skills to make "stuff". Objects of no particular importance other than roleplaying, no coded functionality, from candles to toys to musical instruments to festive party decorations.
We need a way to see descriptions of objects that are visibly being worn by people.

Taking the opportunity, I'd like to remind the idea of opening designs lists of all trades to everyone. Without commodities required, public designs only.
