These are just some of the people that were present in today's influence battle over the village of Paavik, many more were present in other rooms and I tried to get an oversight of who were all there, but it was proving rather impossible.
Now, I must admit I am beyond simply impressed, as most of you I have been around MUDs for a while and have (sadly) had my amount of wars to deal with. The main theme of these battles, one of which lasted almost an IC decade, was mainly the extreme chaos they represented. Groups were getting massacred, people picked off, and several bullies had the ability to hold off entire armies just because they were coordinated better.
Now these were numbers nowhere near as massive as the number of people that I now behold, in strict formation and order, marching upon the village of Paavik.
I do not think many of you realise just how incredible an accomplishment this is, muds can be extremely overwhelming, especially during battles of any sort. And the first thing that usually happens when such things come about is that people start arguing, fights break out, the chain of command breaks down and it basically turns into a massive free-for-all where no one works together and everyone gets picked off on their own. And this I have beheld with numbers that do not even approach the masses I see here.
I am terribly impressed, a very great accomplishment indeed.

Good stuff, that.

I thought it was pretty amazing, too. I just wish we weren't outnumbered so badly and that everyone wasn't picking on me... I'm tiny. It only takes ONE of you guys to take me down, not five, thankyouverymuch.
Kaervas2005-07-20 09:09:18
Who got it anyway?
Kariol2005-07-20 09:10:46
Serenwilde
silimaur2005-07-20 09:38:28

Joli2005-07-20 10:46:39
yes, Celest has been getting a lot better with their influencing, as that's what we are currently doing right now. Did another village go up in the wee hours of the morning? Har.. I was asleep or reading Harry Potter.
The thought of calling Rhysus 'uncle' scares me more than you would think.. Thank You for giving me that visual at 5:43 in the morning, Kidaen.

Paavik went up, and then Celest lost Southgard to Glomdoring.
Who still can't win without Magnagora. Kthnx.

Pfft. Only because Magnagora is overpowered.
That said, nerf.
Gregori2005-07-20 12:26:26
If by overpowered you mean that Magnagoran citizens actually listen to their leadership and work as a team since day one, with full influence plans and people who know the chain of command and follow orders. I agree they are overpowered. I would give anything for Serenwilde to have half as much discipline as Magnagora and as a player I commend them all for that discipline.
