Okay, so, we're talking Edward Elric's mother end result kinda thing. Mass of ash and flesh and grossness. So what? Stop at step two! Tearing things apart. >.>
Okay, Rafael. I'm sorry. Go smash, please.

That would actually be pretty cool.

Bah I missed it . Erm Ye of Little Faith you think because Celest has just Acknor left that means they are gonna pull a rabbit out of their and dominate Mag? I fail to follow this theory..

Loicked room with 10 people, magelocked door and a damn eye sigil. I just heartstopped twice so no random novice would get the kill on me, bastards!!

Where is your can of harden up? Sounds like you need a dose. Kaervas was doing the exact same thing in Estelbar. Standing in a room, magelock the door, summon then chasm.

I am not saying SW doesn't work hard, just that Magnagora has been organised in their tactics from the start where as it took us a long time to get to the point where you even get told what is going on within 30 minutes of asking. SW does work hard, and they show time and again when they all stop talking and start listening that they get things done.

Last time, Serenwilde did not really help them take Acknor. This time, I've no doubt the Wilde will help. Who knows? Maybe I'm wrong. I just think they'll fight twice as hard knowing this is their last one.

It was like, you, me, Malicia, maybe Laysus. Not very many. A lot of people refused, for reasons like Rafael's.
Unknown2005-07-20 14:17:15
WOOHOOO, smash time! Now to convince Rhysus and the rest not to condemn me when I go a'smashin'.
Malicia2005-07-20 14:18:28
Yah, we helped.
Anyhow, I missed Southgard, argh! Congrats Glomdoring.. (burndiedieburn) It was late as hell and I guess some of us left after Paavik turned.
Gregori, if by discipline you mean sheer numbers/fighters, then your statement would be correct. The Serens always rally together when a village revolts or whatever situation that calls for it.
Try and imagine a village revolting with Triden, Diamante, Gwylifar, Iasmos, Icarus, Terenas, Klia along with myself in the realms. Trust me. That village would be ours. The Ur'Guard support their influencers well. They're often here when a village goes up.
That's it! I'm going to start hitting Terenas up on AIM while he's sleeping and make him come influence.
Kidding!
But I do agree that Magnagora is a powerhouse. Always will be.

Rally yes, run around like a bunch of cats in a confusion yes too.
If you think that everbody constantly asking what should I do? = organisation than yes SW is very organised. We have some people yourself being one of them, that know immediately what to do, but alot of the talk on CT is confusion. This was all I was trying to point out. Having played a mag alt at times I know they have alot better "this is your job, when the village revolts" routines. This is why I tried to promote the help files in SEG for village influencing, and tried to get the Champions to form groups to work with regularily so we could push towards a more focused objective as one unit instead of a few well trained and a few rather confused.
EDIT:: And for that matter depending on when I arrive inthe mix of village influencing, I may either be one of the trained or one of the confused. It shouldn't matter though when a person arrives, they should know "this is my job in this village" and go do it.

We have more then just a Powerhouse type strategy, when we win villages. I have learned since I been in Magnagora, no one will complain about losing or being killed from village influencing. We would always jump right back into the action, taking orders and geting things done. We win our battles because of Discipline, and not questioning our superiors orders.
Torak2005-07-20 14:39:07
Well I can't say too much about the whole Acknor thing because I missed the start, but while I was there 3/4th of it had to do with numbers. We had like 1 mage, Celest have 3-4.

Celest had like, Shamarah for most of it. Then Wuylinfe and Vesar towards the end. By which point they all showed up, me and my squirrels/briars demesne held a good chunk of Acknor It was pretty sad.

You know, I was just thinking about this. Way back when, during open beta and before the second round of influencing villages happened, when no one had heard of me, my second post in news (Serenwilde #491, 11/18/2004) was suggesting this, along with "influencing drills". I got exactly one response: Auseklis' favor for a day for it. Sometimes I think it would still be beneficial for us to do an influence drill.
Rhysus2005-07-20 15:54:48
So, given that the last few villages have revolted at absolutely horrific times all around, would it be possible to make it so the function that checks for whether a village should revolt at a given time only evaluates as true if the number of players online is at or above a certain pre-defined threshold? I think this would go a long way towards making things both more interesting and less frustrating.

I've always found that the fun part of the villages. The odd times they revolt, with some being when everyone is around, and others when you have 5 people around. Keeps us on our toes if we have a mass or forces, or have to work well with the 2-3 we have that can influence.
I'd hate to see a change like this, as some of the times when no one is around were the best bonding experiences for me (via my city). When you have 50 people, the communication is jumbled, everyone just gets pissed at each other and you end up getting little accomplished. In smaller groups, you get precision and in the end most of my good IC friendships were established in those.

I was thinking about that this morning too.. That I wonder if we could convince the Commune to have "Influence drills". Make sure people get used to what they are supposed to be doing, our sanctuary people know where to go and so on. Then I remembered just how hard it is to herd cats. So I made breakfast instead and started working on other things.

I dunno, I would find it useful. Laneth finds himself at CR3 and no idea what to do *shrug*. So he just follows someone like Malicia around and does whatever she says or seems to be needed done.

wait.. what part did Rhysus have?
Meh once again I was sleeping. Not that I'm useful.
