Minor Lag

Over the course of the last three days, I have been experiencing constant, minor lag. As far as I know I'm not the only one who is struggling with this problem. The lag itself is not severe enough (atleast for me) to keep me from playing occasionally, but it will definately make me nervous during any kind of combat related situations. My connection with everything else is perfectly normal, and nothing has been fiddled with my client over this last 3 days. However, I understand that there has been major changes on your side during this last week or so. I'd appreciate it if one of the divines can look into this by any chance. Thank you.

I've been experiencing this "minor lag" as well. It's not as if everything is fast, then stops completely for a second or two, then picks up again. It's constant. Every command just doesn't seem as fast as it used to, things are constantly lagged a bit.

This is happening at both places I play (with identical client/system).

Location 1) My apartment, TimeWarner Broadband

Location 2) My office at Ohio State University, some ungodly fast connection

I live/work in Columbus, Ohio, USA

Everything else on my equipment is running as normal (other apps on both computers, xbox, etc). It amazes me that I can play Halo 2 from home against someone from England with almost no lag, or download a 750mb ISO at my office from Germany in a matter of minutes, but a MUD lags? I really don't think it's my connection(s).

I'm anxious to hear what's up as well, I wub.gif Lusternia!

Edit: This started for me about 3 days ago as well. I started noticing it just after a major Lusternia/IRE crash/reboot/whatever-you-guys-are-doing.

Hmm, guess I better put some of those triggers back in again, if it's not me that's lagging. wacko.gif

I'm experiencing it as well. It's not major, but it's serious enough that I don't feel confident doing much of anything "risky" (difficult hunting, such as gorgogs.)

It is not Lusternia. Most likely it is Above.net again, whom is the reason for our latest downtime(actually, most of our downtime is due to them). Not to much we can do about it, even switching ISP's wouldn't help because above.net is one of the main pipes.

Atleast 50% of the states goes through Above.net at some point, someone needs to go "fix" them. tongue.gif

Does this "fix" involve a metal pipe and maybe a sound beating?

No lag for me! (For once... damn wireless sucking and randomly dropping *mutter)

I noticed that Above.net's main page advertises "flexible cost-effective connectivity". It is flexible, I'm getting my money's worth out of it (nothing), and it connects. They don't say ANYTHING about "reliable" or "speedy", though... They need a healthy dose of shotgun.
