Meep. Band camp is coming up these next two weeks. Six hours of good ol' physical execise every day.

I'm so out of shape. (Not that I ever was in shape) Too scrawny or something. Band camp was hell last year and I'm not sure why I joined band this year either. I guess I'm in it for the course credit and our spring trip to Hawaii!

Ugh THank god its not me. I use to be in band camp. Played the mellophone. Those people are fanatics. "March til you puke!" was the motto.

And they really are fanatics... every time before a half-time show the flutes (I'm a flute by the way) will all get in a circle, have a pep talk, and then spit on the grass/turf. Oh, and then they start running up to people and headbutting/tapping their plumes.

Aye Lyren Its a marching french horn, cause its really dumb to march a french horn.

OHHH! We refer to them as "marching French horns" at my band. Yup. :/

Aaah. Band camp is tomorrow. Wish me luck on not collapsing with heat exhaustion or getting whacked in the head with a tuba or getting bitten by a poisonous snake.

EDIT: Oh, wish me luck also on um, choking on my tongue while playing or falling over and having a domino effect on the whole band or getting stung by a bee and finding out I'm allergic or getting dehydrated or slipping on the astroturf and breaking a limb. I'm such a happy camper.

The funniest thing is when you are standing at attention and the director forgets to tell you at ease while he is having a lenghty conversation. The people who are dumb enough to lock their knees go down quick!

Because I'm bored I'm going to think up some more bad stuff that could possibly happen...

I could... get sprayed in the eye with that line marking paint or set my instrument down and have a fat guy step on it or get a stomach cramp during the human pyramid set (oh, there isn't one by the way) or dance reeeally hard during that dancing song and fall off the stands or get suffocated by that cape-like thing on my uniform or sweat a lot after just washing my hair.

Someone stole my uniform and the only one left was way to big for me. I had to wear it. On the foot ball field during the homecomming game at halftime, my pants came off during the marching band show. I was lucky I had my jeans on under them, but ... The entire flute section tripped and fell over them during the backwards march and ended up on the ground.

I read the title of this posting, and immediately a trigger went off in my mind and it fell right in the gutter. Hehe.

And meep. It's getting closer and closer to band camp time...

Hmm...band camp seems to be different there to what it is here...

Yeah... our band camp was "sit in the auditorium learning how to be one big orchestra-type band," no marching or exercise involved.

Band camp for me doesn't start until August 23 :/
