Thanks for the great fight, Magnagora! It started out really bad for us, but slowly, we began to see how to handle a non-violent fight And Kaervas - by the Gods, you're insane. I shall strive to one day be as good as you

Word of Kaervas' amazing exploits reached as far as the IRE room, and I too was awed.
Ixchilgal2005-08-01 00:54:17
So what were these alleged exploits?
Gregori2005-08-01 01:00:28
I think he meant this definition of exploit.
An act or deed, especially a brilliant or heroic one.

Ah...well, sorry for being a tad jumpy there. I mean, I'm guilty of it too, but can't ever be too careful with this crowd.

Being the best influencer in the Basin, as far as I can tell?
Tsuki2005-08-01 01:36:47
I concur!

Kaervas was scary to walk behind...he'd run into a room, before I could even QL to see what was IN the damn room he'd already influenced (and won no less) except against the names. I got to QL before he beat them. Barely.
Unknown2005-08-01 13:36:34
He'd get mobs quicker than people could moonbeam. So sad.
Shiri2005-08-01 13:40:13
Hmm, no, he'd get mobs like 3 seconds AFTER I finished moonbeaming, before I finished yelling on CT for a divert.

You know that that means, right? We need to get better
Shiri2005-08-01 13:54:54
We need to bloody promote Anarias or something is what we need to do.
Malicia2005-08-01 13:57:59
Kaervas is a mugwump. That's how he does it.
He might be transed in influence as well. That might help.
One of the best debaters though is Tatine. She was destroying them right and left.
Laysus and Nejii are just as insane. It was fun though, yeah.

Yeah, I really wish speed didn't matter so much in influencing =\\ But really, those with no speed bonus are at a huge disadvantage with the way the system works.
EDIT: It just seems really dumb and annoying to me that mugwumps, one of the conceptually ugliest races, are by far the best at influencing others, and Tae'dae, who are supposed to be highly charismatic and likeable, are by FAR the worst at it. I wish the influencing system could be refined a bit so speed isn't the be and and end all =\\

Which goes to show how bad debating is, because while normally I destroy people , today I got killed in 4-5 moves (those were mine too) by Melanchthon. And other times I just die really fast. Other times I beat Ethelon, Melanchthon and so on easily, but eh...
Also ARGH I hate debating Titania, no matter how much I wail on her with attacks she just sips it off even debating the head villager. Bloody faelings, immune to the stuff, I swear.
Unknown2005-08-01 14:24:16
I'd like to see debating and influencing running off a seperate balance. It would be based mostly on Charisma, with intelligence thrown in to a smaller degree. As well, + eq balance would have no effect. Thus, Faelings and Tae'dae would have a muuuch better chance at it than say some short ugly thing like a Mugwump.
Maybe for Debating, as-is would be fine. But influencing, meh. Iunno. Just seems silly, for the reasons already stated by another. Ugly frogboy better influencer than my cute lil faeling?

I've debated her whilst influencing someone, she's not THAT tough. Sure she's pretty resilient to it, but you can cope. Defensive debating unfortunately still is the way to go. Those who do not respond in a debate should start getting hit for much more powerful attacks by the offensive debater if they don't reply.
Kaervas2005-08-01 14:28:17
I'm trans influencing, normal charisma is 11 but I have a beauty blessing (+2), netzach (+1) and a throne (+2) so I get 16 charisma altogether. Plus I have illusions so I can make myself look as handsome as I want
Feel free to nerf mugwump speed in village influencing but not normal influencing, influencing is my new bashing now

Owning a throne increases charisma?
