I did a bit of RP on my young Hartstone novice alt - went to speak with an Aspect, and it resulted in an interesting little log.
----
You say to the White Stag, "Greetings, Mighty Stag. Might you bestow upon a
young Dedicant the knowledge of this place? I seek to understand what it is you
represent. What Aspect of the White Hart do you truly represent?"
A deep, powerful voice echoes in your mind, "We are the Aspects of the White
Hart, we are All That Is."
A deep, powerful voice echoes in your mind, "I am naturally the mature stage of
all Stags, through the group soul of the Stags are we formed."
You say, "I see. I did not know if it was as evident as that. I would not
presume that my assumption, of the fact that you seem to represent the cycle
and aspects of life as anywhere near complete and true."
A deep, powerful voice echoes in your mind, "The White Hart is the perfect
synthesis of all stags, he is all and none of them, bringing their group soul
into one."
You ask, "Amazing.. might I ask.. do His Aspects also represent any part of His
philosophy and teachings?"
A deep, powerful voice echoes in your mind, "We are his dreams, his memories,
all that lives behind the soul. We show what the waking self cannot."
You ponder the situation.
You say to the White Stag, "Perhaps it is fear that brought me to you, I admit.
I hoped for a direction that is beyond the simple things written in the scrolls
of my guild. I have read the history between the White Hart and Twisted Crow,
and yet, as the dark druids seem to draw strength and knowledge from his
tainted aspects, there seems to be very little in the way of teachings taken
from the White Hart. I suppose I was hoping to have that filled."
A deep, powerful voice echoes in your mind, "The easy way is always seems more
attractive. This is because the teachings of Crow are thin and flimsy, they do
not truly contain anything of worth. The teachings of the White Hart require
far more time spent contemplating yourself, and that which is around you, this
enlightenment cannot be given in a quick fix. It is the difference between a
long, hard path of truth, and a short, easy path of shadows and dust."
You say, "Such things I most certainly agree with. It is why I admitted to
being driven partially by my fear. Not so much, however, fear that the
teachings were not true.. but that, perhaps.. not many had truly took the time
to contemplate them, or even find out what they should be contemplating in the
first place."
You say to the White Stag, "I wonder.. if, instead of answers, you might bestow
upon me the question of the Aspects, so to speak? The scrolls of the guild give
no insight at all, seemingly, to that which I could even begin to think upon.
Might there be, however basic, a message through which I might gain such an
understanding, with effort, that is otherwise lacking?"
A deep, powerful voice echoes in your mind, "It is for mortals to decide what
they wish to know about the world."
You ponder the situation.
You say to the White Stag, "And how do we know what is truth? It seems so easy,
upon such a path, to falter and fall into the shadow of Crow, of False Memory,
to think we understand that which you stand for, and yet have no clue, but
still to pass it on to others."
You say, "If you wish to say no more, I understand, of course. I thank you for
the gift of your wisdom."
----
To be honest, I was sort of hoping for a:
Aspect: This is what I represent!
Me: Some principles! Thank god!
But, what resulted was definitely something to think over. It does, however, put Hartstone at a definite disadvantage to their RP when compared to Blacktalon.. especially since, well, a large precentage of Hartstone probably wouldn't care unless it was handed to them, so the whole contemplation thing is sort of not helpful.

Kudos to whichever divine answered though, that was nice.
Edit: And they're really not at too much of a disadvantage. Its fairly easy to create your own interpretation of their meaning without direct teachings as such.

That is some of the best Hartstone rp I have seen since Open Beta, Kudo's to Aleron
Unknown2005-08-02 23:02:52
Very interesting. Makes me want to strike up a chat with a Crow Aspect, but it would likely just yell a lot and try to eat me.
Elryn2005-08-02 23:07:40
Actually, you might be able to organize something with Lisaera and maybe have a rite of some kind at the next Gathering to gain guidance from White Hart or his Aspects... that might be pretty cool.

Heh, well, honestly Shiro, how much Hartstone RP would you have been able to see? I imagine you (and I, and the other non-serenwilders) wouldn't see much Hartstone RP, cause its not always worldwide or posted on the forums.
And I like when They do that.
Sylphas2005-08-02 23:12:55
I've been trying more to make us a coherent friendly group before I tried anything else, but if we can get something out of this, it would be awesome.
Unknown2005-08-02 23:13:22
Actually, Shiro was very close to Serenwilde and it's rp for awhile when he was a Celestine.
Unknown2005-08-02 23:14:49
I'm planning a little Crow ritual. Should be fun, if I ever get it off the ground.
Sure I'm not a Blacktalon, but I have the skill and that's good enough.

That is my only concern.. is that, people will twist and bend the teachings to support their own position, and, instead of the truth and bond, you'll have nothing better than Crow's False Memory being passed down through the generations from then on out.
Also, i'm 99% sure it was Lisaera playing the Aspect. Since she responded on GNT right before I initiated the convo.

I don't think that was in doubt.
There are a few divine up there who really earn their grovelling.

I actually enjoy the fact that White Hart's teachings are as elusive as the animal he embodies. He has some absolute truths, but other than that he hints at seeking your own meaning in life.

I agree that its a very cool philosophy.. it just doesn't help unite the guild on its own.. and needs people to take the initiative, which, Hartstone seems to be bad at encouraging from what has been said throughout the forum.

<3 Lis and the Havens. And Hart. Kalo doesn't much care for him - Kalo really only thinks about Father Sun, because he's obvious and easiest to see. Kalo worries more about Nature and Fae in general, while Moondancers really, really just aren't for him.
Gregori2005-08-03 00:44:53
*cough*Hart is Fae *cough*
Anyways. Gregori is, always has been, and probably will remain a fanatic of Hart.

We do actually have people studying what the aspects of Hart represent. I've always pushed for doing more research (amongst other things) into White Hart and his Aspects so that we can follow him more closely. And now I've officially been appointed as a Sec to organise research and collection of knowledge, you can be sure I will redouble my efforts.
Aleron2005-08-03 06:47:02
Then why is there not a single thing posted?
...just seems a bit.. odd. I mean, you -have- RPed with them before, right? Shouldn't you have gotten something out of it?

Jitwix2005-08-03 07:01:59
Because I have been lax. I was laburing under the (obviously) false impression that besides a few people like Elryn, Nessa and Imogen, people didn't really care what White Hart actually thought. I'm glad you knew about the aspects. A while back hardly anyone knew they existed, let alone were able to find them. I have an essay on the aspects. I've also been hsitant to show it to many people, as I was afraid, as you previosly mentioned, that I might have interpreted stuff wrongly. But we need to know about White Hart, to give the guild direction, a basis to judge our actions upon, especially as Glomdoring has returned and claim to be as much a part of nature as us. There will be a guild file about White Hart and his aspects very very soon, I can promise that.
Unknown2005-08-03 09:47:07
Hmm... I can definately say that immersion like this is always wonderful. We can't expect to see it all the time, but it's always fun when it happens. Makes you feel like you're in the world. Wonderful!
