I wouldn't mind quite as much if Nessa hadn't picked some freaky titles. "Convoy of the Hart" makes me want to repeatedly cudgel her.
My attempts at building guild unity have always been to get to know people, get us talking, and more personal things like that. Nessa seems to want to do it the opposite way, through rules and regulations.

Moondancers are the most united guild i've ever seen, and they have -no- enforced titles. That theory that it creates unity just went poof in big colorful flames.

We tell our novices, "Hey, we're going to give you a generic title - feel free to change it when you think of something creative!"
But more on topic:
QUOTE(Ashteru)
I think Ash is pretty much the only druid who never interacted with White Hart or one of his aspects. But he simply has no RP reason, and just because I see that they like to talk now doesn't mean I can just go there out of the blue.
The funny thing about that is, in Shorlen's eyes, Ashteru follows the teachings of the Hart better than any other druid in Hartstone The Aspects certainly seem to be saying 'Find you own path and quit bothering us.'

Shouldn't unity be represented by choice?

Choice... moondancers... choice... moondancers...
Nah, it'll never work.

As Administrator, Skyla always kept "High Wisdom of the Moon" in her title for RP purposes. Even after she stepped down, she opted to keep the title "Priestess of the Moon". Skyla does this because she is a proud member of an established Moon Coven. She relishes every moment she spends within it.
When the Moondancers speak about their leadership, they tend to use "Wisdom" instead of "Secretary" and "Moon Guide" instead of "Undersecretary" so this substitution seemed natural and was never questioned. It seemed that when people ascended to a position, they -wanted- to include their titles, and that was wonderful! It was one of the sincerest forms of flattery the leadership could ever imagine.
The Moon Coven, in my opinion, is one of the strongest and most unified Guilds I have ever been in. I think this stems from having such solid groundings, and developing a culture that is rich and running throughout the guild. People tend to get excited and burst with enthusiasm about this. They often want to be acknowledged as part of the culture they are so proud to be a part of and sometimes this results in them wearing their titles with pride.
So to cut a long story short, I’m not a fan of mandatory titles. Titles are entirely personal, but when many individuals decide off their own back that they will use the optional titles created for their positions because they are proud of who they are, then THAT is a guild with direction!
....This has nothing to do with the topic of the thread *shuffle* Sozz.

Exactly, Skyla. You have to make them want to be a part of the guild, you can't force them to do it and expect them to them to grow from that.
