And the point still stands, Saplings come from Tree, not from our demesne, and if left in a Blacktalon demesne for very long periods of time, they may become Tainted.  S'all that's been said, and needs to be said.  If they came from Crow, yes, they would be Tainted.  If they came from the Ravenwood, yes, they'd be tainted.

They aren't.  Period.  So please, stop argueing, not just IC, as you seem to have, but OOC as well!

I haven't said they are tainted, Kalodan.

I've said I was disappointed they AREN'T tainted.

Alright, well, drop that arguement too. For the same reason!

EDIT: As a matter of fact, that would simply have caused *more* conflict, what with everyone mulching everyone elses trees and whatnot. Which is what a lot of us reeealllyy don't want.
Elryn2005-08-08 13:13:07
Yeah, don't you hate when opposing organizations have conflict? Bugger that.

I hate when Estarra stands here and says "Communes COULD ally, if they wanted to!" and turns around and codes something to simply drive a wedge between them. Since neither raise tainted saplings, I really don't see how it's making us work together, either. They're JUST trees. Just trees. Not SPECIAL MYTHICAL TREES OF +1NESS! Just trees. No more, no less. Trees.
Elryn2005-08-08 13:17:42
Yeah, and it would have worked just as well if we could both plant tainted saplings, and Serenwilde can hope they grow healthy eventually when they're older.

Because they're just whoa, trees, man. Peace.

The difference here is, you're freaking out because the Tainted Druids are raising healthy, untainted Saplings because it's coming from Tree, not Raven or Night or the Ravenwood or the Glomdoring. Not that the Untainted Druids are raising Tainted Trees, because they're coming from an untainted spirit.

See, the problem is, the Blacktalon doesn't care. We would.

Fair enough, its their inconsistency, not Hartstone's.

Don't know why you had to vociferously argue that simple comment with me if you accept that though.

How is it an inconsistency? They do not comprehend taint. They do not believe their demesne so, in theory, if they recognized the plants as Tainted, they'd have the same problem we would.

...So if I bake cookies on a rainy day, are they going to be soggy?
Elryn2005-08-08 13:41:18
Not if you bake them indoors.

And, since Tree isn't tainted, we are, indeed, indoors.

huh.gif I don't get your analogy.

My point is, the fact that their forest is tainted is irrelevant. Their forest has nothing to do with it. Nothing. They could make a forest made of fecal matter, and they'd still raise saplings that, for all intents and purposes, are the same as ours, if only well fertilized.
Elryn2005-08-08 13:48:24
How is it irrelevent? They are Druids.

163609

Because the type of forest they raise has NOTHING to do with the trees they raise? They come from Tree. If you'r baking cookies indoor, the snow outside could be fifty feet thick and you're deeper in it than the Titanic - it's irrelevant. It has no bearing on the nature of the Sapling.
Elryn2005-08-08 13:52:03
Oh, so Magnagorans and Celestians would raise exactly the same trees/forests as we do? Even though they are in tainted wasteland and ocean environments?

If they had Druids and Tree gave them the ability, yes. Of course, I believe the Magnagoran Druids are called "Blacktalon", and my point is thusly proven.

EDIT: Of course, the question is REALLY stupid and makes absolutely zero sense. But the demesne is irrelevant. Well, I can only raise in a pure forest and they in a tainted forest (which could be changed, given the irrelevancy of the demesne, but such is the way of balancing!). But, yea. It doesn't matter what forest it's raised in.
Elryn2005-08-08 13:57:54
You're not seeing any difference in action here?

Blacktalon
Multiple: *summon taintforest trees*
Singular: *summon forest tree*

Can't commune at all with healthy forest, but its TOTALLY reasonable when they summon portions of it?

But

is not?

Here's my problem. Forest is COMPOSED of trees.
