Stag doesn't do damage, and it only flings to trees when they're on-eq.
Nyla2005-08-04 03:39:52
Ah... its been so long since I have had one
Unknown2005-08-04 03:39:53
Why would slipping when trying to leave the trees make you breaks your arms when falling by any other means just breaks your legs?
Unknown2005-08-04 03:56:03
I would really like to see it made impossible to get down from trees unscathed without the ability to climb down. It should break your legs or take a while (You begin attempting to locate footing to lower yourself from the trees. A moment or two later you get down, ALA swimming). Someone proposed something similar to this in the general Druidry thread and the response was that it would be unfair. However think of this, when you're brought into the air and you can't fly, you fall to the ground for damage and sustain a severe concussion. Falling from 50 feet up in the tree tops should have a similar, if slightly less drastic, effect.
Personally I'd prefer it being delayed similar to swimming, because that gives druids a brief time period to do something to stop them, whereas breaking both legs doesn't really delay people very long with a semi-decent system, and even if it did they're no longer in the trees at that point.

Edit- Because I'm an idiot. That's a bad idea if you can't go down without climbing down.

You realize you can just simply go down right? It's not that hard and you don't need to be able to climb trees to do so.

...yes, they realise this. Hence the whole suggesting changes to it thing. o_O

Are you referring to the infamous 'disappearing forest' trick? If its the same as it was, then breaking the centre room while you have some demesne left, just moves the centre along. Breaking the last room of your demesne wipes out every forceforest you ever created, whether it was part of a demesne or not.

it's annoying, and why half our villages end up getting unforested when a demesne on ethereal gets wiped out :/
Shiri2005-08-04 04:36:09
I KNEW there was a way you could do that, but all the druids on swore blind it wasn't true.

Sylphas2005-08-04 05:19:04
Oh, Nyla, we don't get Shafts, that's moon. And Ancestralcurse is only useful to lock down a room. If we use to actually fight, you simply move, and I've used almost all of my power I should be stomping, slinging, or sapping with.

It was bugged a long time ago, I'm sure they'll get around to it soon.

So *this* is why our Blacktalon forceforest on Ethereal always vanishes so very quickly. It's been striking me as odd when we have the entire thing forested (but for some reason it's not all melded, or something... don't ask, I don't know), and not even one minute later all the forest is *gone* without your Druids even entering the locations we're in to change them. I know you guys move quickly, but you're not THAT quick.
Ugh.
(I think we can rant about Faethorn's natural state again, since it immediately becomes normal forest

Hajamin2005-08-04 06:02:59
It is 100% impossible for anything that effects demenses to only effect one guild/type. They are all the same as far as the code is concerned.
That said, there was a bug and should be fixed now.

Well, we have an equvilent of illusiory terrain now. Thanks!

Jairdan2005-08-04 06:10:36
heh, that bug is why we first lost Estelbar. I had been holding the demense for 14+ hours (the + being the time it took to go into Mag and break the demesne that was inside and up around), and then I went to get rid of a forest in the Moondancer GH and suddenly Estelbar went poof of forests, and it revolted within minutes >.<

You got some skill or another equivalent to shaft.
Shiri2005-08-04 06:47:46
Ringwalk, which is like a 10% version of carcer instead of 33%...is not at all like shafts.

I think your demesne is pretty powerful, you just need to stop depending on it to fight for you, and actually learn how to fight yourself.
161050
How does the Hartstone demesne compare to the Geomancer or Aquamancer? I mean seriously, don't try and tell us that the Hartstone is anywhere near as powerful or effective.
Narsrim2005-08-04 07:30:18
What stuns in the Blacktalon demesne? I've fought in them several times... and nothing has ever stunned me.
Shiri2005-08-04 07:38:01
I think you can get hallucinations from it, same as Hartstone...I can't think of anything else.

Jairdan2005-08-04 07:41:00
Yes, Hallucinations stun, but Murder also knocks you off balance. But hallucinations stunning isn't quite as useful given that you can usually always cure it before that particular effect.
