Ooh, purge Serenwilde!
*cough*
Anyhow.
Yes, but that's a forest fire that's natural ie, not started with the intention to burn a forest down.
Ooh, there's another forest fire thread. Never saw it. Will read it.

Well, the druid saplings should either take 1 chop to kill EVERYWHERE, or have ignite kill em. Illusionary terrain has no exceptions as to if it can be realitychecked instantly, why should druid saplings have an exception? All lumberjacks are equal if all realitycheckers are equal, in my book If you want druid saplings to have that 4 chop exception, you need to balance that with an exception for realitycheck.

YOU CANNOT FOREST ELEMENTAL PLANES. AS A RESULT IT IS NOW HARDER (but still possible) TO TAINT/FLOOD FAETHORN.
Jadryga2005-08-04 08:28:08
Well, it's all the same on Prime.

YOU CAN FOREST NIL OR CELESTIA! YOU CANNOT TAINT ETHERWILDE OR ETHERGLOM! FAETHORN = CELESTIA = NIL!!! AS A RESULT IT IS UNBALANCED TO HAVE 4 CHOPS IN FAETHORN

Supernals live on Celestia.
Demon Lords live on Nil.
What lives in Faethorn? NOTHING LIKE THAT!

Revan, aren't you the one who argued against -me- that it was inappropriate to ask for changes on forums. In fact, I can quote if you so desire... you said that only changes result from envoy suggestion... so why are you posting and not taking it to your envoy? Pwned.
Revan2005-08-04 09:11:28
That was me being a devil's advocate because I felt like it. In any case, you have Maeve on Faethorn... the queen of ALL FAE!! that's something, is it not?

Kinda like your Earth Lords in that it's "something."
Revan2005-08-04 09:14:13
Kinda like your Aspects in Etherwilde... Get it straight: Etherwilde = Eterglom = Earth = Water. Faethorn = Nil = Celestia.

But our equivalents to the Supernals/Demonlords are in Etherwilde as well.
Jadryga2005-08-04 09:17:26
For one, this IS the Ideas thread.
Heh.
What he meant, was that Earth, Water, Eth Seren and Eth Glom are exclusive, as far as melding goes. But Celestia, Nil and Faethorn are free game.
Realitycheck is equal, and instant, whether it's on Prime, or Earth/Water/EthGlom/Wilde, or Celestia/Nil/Faethorn. Chops on the other hand, are not equal.

I guess it could be made 1 universally. But it's really not that important. (And unless ignite had a delay (even 2 seconds or so is fine), and ONLY worked on these sapling things, it'd be overbalanced in the wrong direction again. So ignite COULD work, given these things. Not exactly NECESSARY, but not a problem either.

( Revan.)
Jadryga2005-08-04 09:31:18
We did ask for a delay for ignite to complete.
So it wouldn't be instant. Which would justify getting realitycheck somewhat, since if you're trying to set an active demesne on fire, you're
1) quite slow
2) bombarded by said demesne while you wait
3) handing out invitations to kill you

Yeah, I know, Revan just wanted me to agree with him on something so I had to post.
Revan2005-08-04 09:39:17
Lies. You came to a professional agreement on your own whim because I have intelligent, logical points laid out. I had nothing to do with it in any manner... I didn't even beg you on IRC to do it.

Yet again another reason for people to continue to laugh when you dare to post anything and then follow up with "my point is intelligent and has facts, you should listen to me."
Tell us Revan, will you say tomorrow that you were playing devil's advocate again with saplings?
Revan2005-08-04 09:49:43
No, because this actually needs to be done, and your arguments for saplings to remain the way they are are empty and filled with utter bias. So no, yesterday was a one time thing only

I say Ignite should just destroy demesne saplings. Much more balanced than the axe chopping. Plus, it'll give enchanters more business!
161227
Revan, I'm beginning to think that disagreeing with you is unfair because it is like playing your favorite computer game with god mode turned on - there is simply no challenge.
Your "suggestion" for saplings is that a novice ability should take them out. You feel this is a good idea because it will also boost the business for enchanters (*note* Revan is an enchanter). However, you have expressed no concern that Druids have to obtain a skill that is very high in Discernment that allows them to destroy illusionary terrain.
Now, you -dare- to accuse me of being bias when:
1. You offer no equal system for Druids. You simply offer a system that favors Mages
2. You want more business as an enchanter.
----------
I swear, this truly baffles me. If we align your posts in order, we find you make a point and then proceed to contradict yourself. This is becoming a rather amusing yet nasty habit.
Tenebrae2005-08-04 10:02:17
If there Is a forest fire, personally I would believe that a majority of the plants in the room should be destroyed. If there were 60 galingale, 10 should be left... For the ingniting thing though, can it matter on your intelligence? If you are 9 or 10, it takes you more times than, say someone who is 18. We could also maybe have this chance if someone lights a pipe in the forest, and that room will begin to burn, increasing over time.
Revan2005-08-04 10:05:17
Can't say you're any different really Nars. The argument "takes one to know one" comes to mind. Anyway... you want a nice balance? Here goes.
1) Make Saplings die in one chop universally so there's no inbalance.
2) failing that, make reality check take about 5 seconds to work.
3) Make ignite burn down saplings with about a 2 second delay. Not only will this boost business for enchanters (Sorry Nars, it's a valid argument), but it'll provide everyone with an easy method to rid a demesne of saplings with enough of a delay for the druid (and their moondancer cronies if they got em) to defend their territory.
