As Ambassador, I think I got off easy by going over people who want to join by putting them through the policy we have. However, when people want to rejoin, things get a little iffy.

Power Minister is so the easiest ministry job. Coming from being one and then seeing the Trade minister's job, for one...wacko.gif
Vix2005-08-05 03:32:12
Power's easy if you have a system to read it. Otherwise you're spending about ten minutes going over everything every day.

And you're right about Trade. Being one in Achaea stank (especially since comms stank there too).
Shiri2005-08-05 03:36:18
Ten minutes is nothing!
Terenas2005-08-05 03:38:01
Being the Treasurer is tough work! I have to spend at least 5 minutes every week making sure the ministries have gold!

For someone who sits around 16 hours a day? rolleyes.gif

I still say Ambassador is easier. ninja.gif

EDIT: Quoted since Terenas slipped in.

I have to agree that Treasurer is about the easiest there is.

And after seeing our newest ambassador work, I can guarantee you that my ministry is far easier than hers. wink.gif

If you don't have a script to display the powerlogs in an easy to read format then I can see how Power Minister would be very very tedious. As it is, if you do have a script its not too bad at all. Definitely easier than trade.

I really enjoyed being the Minister of Trade. It's fun to figure out the various factors influencing production and profit, and measuring incoming resources against outflowing resources.

Com quests are also by and large enjoyable, as you can do them quickly while you're on your way to do other things, plus you get to try and crush the economies of enemy nations and steal business away from them.

And it was fun organizing and negotiating various trade agreements, even though finding Celest's Minister of Trade was often like trying to bash my head into a wall.

Definately the most complex and technical Ministry, but also one of the most rewarding, and one that offers a huge amount of freedom in economic decisions for the City/Commune.

Yeah, I'm finding that too. Fortunately the ministers in Serenwilde all know what they're doing so I don't have to interfere. Then again I haven't made any stupid decision (or stupid-looking decisions) that people have to yell at me for yet. dry.gif

I can yell at you if you like, I used to tell Gregori he was a numpty regularly to keep him grounded.
Shiri2005-08-05 12:16:16
mellow.gif No, no, it's quite okay, I was enjoying it, just reflecting that it can't last long.

Only ever been Minister of Trade and/or novice aide.

MoT isn't that bad, really - log in, check what sold, what didn't sell, what we bought, jack our reserves up ever so slightly (I usually added 100 per to each reserve when it wouldn't affect sales - in the long run, this benefits when a shortage occurs).

I was a really good MoT in Imperian for a couple months until I totally lost interest in Imperian as a whole. Not so great at Lusternia, given I was only MoT for a couple weeks before quitting Lusternia to concentrate on other things in my life.

Power Ministers:

http://www.taramul.de/tools/powerlog.php

copy powerlog, paste powerlog in textbox, press button, read summary.

Right now it only really works with Glomdoring style logs though, since I lack samples of other places' logs. hmmm. I -might- change that if I am sent some, who knows....

Nah, steward = easiest.
Xenthos2005-08-05 20:11:00
Not really.

Our stewards tend to get black and blue from me poking them. tongue.gif
Laysus2005-08-05 20:14:54
I just go in every couple of days and make sure the treasurer has enough, but normally the trade ministry brings in enough for him to draw from tongue.gif

GM job
---------------------
plot with champion
nag the GA
listen to secretaries and tell them to nag the GA
listen to guildmembers and tell them to nag the secretaries/GA
pray for more undersecretaries to not have to deal with novices
make/assign projects
attempt to remember to CF/GF someone
get cranky at the seneschal (watch out Shiri)
write treaty proposals that get ignored
receive treaty proposals to ignore/laugh at
write posts about treaties that'll never last/turn into a pile of crap

Now, not all these things are bad. The top two on the list are most definately in the realm of what I call "FUN".
