Was just browsing the net, came upon http://lusternia.tripod.com/ . Anyone know what that is?

Probably the innane by-product by one of our many "what are teh skillz in lusterniaz?" newbies.

Saw that a couple of days ago after googling Lusternia. I thought it was cute.

Ugh. Blatant copying of the graphics, layout, coding, etc. BAD! Even copied the copyright note ... ranting.gif

Y'know, I really really really really try not even to think of people as idiots, much less voice such unworthy thoughts. Some days, that's more difficult than others.

I could make that webpage in about 2 seconds if I had two windows already open. One is the Lusternia main page, and the other is the Tripod page editing box thing.

Lusternia main page is open
Ctrl+U
Ctrl+A
Ctral+C
Alt+Tab (now Tripod is active)
Ctrl+V
Click submit box

Tada.

Edit: Tripod. Why did I think it was Lycos?

Yeah, they just copied the script, aye?

If you click on some of the links (I only did 2) it takes you to the real Lusternia's stuff. The java client for example.

It hasn't been updated since closed beta. I bet the Powers That Be used it to test page layout before they were ready to stick the whole site up.

They couldn't just upload it to www.lusternia.com/test/index.php? You don't need to set up a crummy tripod account to do that, and that way nobody you don't want to has access to it, too.

You can tell from the "news post" on the side that it's a fan site. I still think it's kinda cute, in a dumb sort of way.
