Hah! Who's going to college for their first year this/next month? How about those in their 2nd, 3rd, 4th possibly even 5th+ year?

Where? How long? Stay on campus?

I'm just bored, and curious.
Unknown2005-08-05 02:21:34
Hah. I'll start it off. I'm going to Florida Gulf Coast University, about thirty seconds outside of Fort Meyers, Florida. That's on the west coast, a few hours sw of Orlando. It's my first year, and classes start the 22nd. I, personally, am staying in the campus dorms - in fact, the shuttle that goes around campus also goes to downtown Fort Meyers. So I've little to no need for a car, so I won't bring mine.

Umm. I don't know what Imma major in yet. Probably alcohol, I'll minor in marijuana. Or something. Or, at least, so my uncles say I will.

Also bored. I'm going to the University of Mary Washington (although I definitely applied to Mary Warywashington College) for my second full year. It's located in Fredericksburg, VA, which is about 40 miles, and ~2-3 hours, south of D.C. I've been taking classes there for three years now.

I'm a Comp Sci major with a double major in either Theatre or Psychology, so I can spend a fourth year at school. Possibly going to law school afterwards so I may change the second major.

Not staying on campus... basically because my parents said no, and I'm still under their jurisdiction.

Eh.. right now I'm getting ready to transfer to the University of Maryland by Fall '06 since my parents are being wishy-washy about moving to North Carolina and I want to abuse in-state tuition while I can.

Right now I'm majoring in Comp Sci too (STILL haven't started my cores though), but when I transfer I plan on doubling up on Programming and Japanese Lang/Studies. Soo.. maybe I ought to throw in an extra year or so. sad.gif

Hey, my bestest friend goes to Mary Washington! biggrin.gif

Well, I'm embarrassed to say how long I've been in and out of school. But hopefully either Northern Arizona or Virginia State or Tech will accept me in 2006. I'll be majoring in Zoology and minoring in Spanish.

I'm going to be a Freshman at University of Maryland. Gonna be living on campus and all that.

And...surprise! I'm majoring in Computer Science too tongue.gif.

And I also know two people going to Mary Washington. Good times, good times.

I'm goin to my second year at Towson University, in Maryland. Getting a double major in computer science and mathematics. Fun. At least after this semester I'll have enough credits to have junior standing. Go me.

I'm going to Uni next year and I'm going to do what I love - whether I am good at it or not - rather than what simply interests me.
Unknown2005-08-05 04:13:15
I graduated with an Associate of Science degree at Northwest Missouri State University at 18 yrs old, 2002.

I intended to go to school immediately, majoring in Mathematics.

Three years later, and pursuits of a major in English and Cryptography, with 0 classes taken, I'm finally returning to school next month. New Jersey Institute of Technology, majoring in Applied Mathematical Sciences: Finance and Actuarial Science. I'll be commuting, which will be fun (15-25 minute bike ride to train station, 1 hour to school each way - I don't drive), as I live with my g/f, and it'd be useless to pay rent and pay for a dorm room. I also will be working 28-32 hours a week.

My classes this next semester: Multivariate Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, Accounting, Microeconomics. Only 40 of my 76 credits transferred.

Who do you people know at Mary Wash? It's a fairly small school so I've probably seen them before, if I don't actually know them.

Woah. I live in Fredericksburg sometimes, grew up around there and all. I have several friends from High School who go there currently. It's a good pick but God darnit it should have been Mary Washington University (Townie thing, sorry). BTW, I still have my admission certificate from Mary Washington College.

I'm going to Christopher Newport as a Sophmore majoring in Biology. I'll probably try to transfer to Duke or W&M next year though.

Hey, BobStar, hopefully I'll see you around. I'm going to NJIT in the fall too, transfer student as well... Doesn't look like I'll have any classes with you, but... yeah, send me a PM if you wanna talk or anything.
Unknown2005-08-08 02:33:53
Heh - what's your major? Commuting or resident?
Unknown2005-08-08 03:32:22
Student at MSU for Microbiology. Been here a while, but I'm not going to say how long. crying.gif Let's just say its been a while. I went originally for teaching, with a major in English and a minor in science, emphasis in Chemistry. Then I switched to Bio-Chemistry, then I was like, this is boring, so I went into Genetics. They wanted me to take on way too many classes. So I talked to my room mates mom, and she said that Microbiology would be something I might be interested in. So I spent three long weeks studying it and getting to learn the basics, and I found that I really liked it. So I went from there, and I hope to go on to my Masters and evetually my Doctrites. What I want to do in this field is hopefully get into the Government and help create chemicals that can be used in war that would replace the fatal ones we have now i.e., Agent Orange, Agent Blood, et cetera. And I'd like to work on something that would be able to counteract these chemicals.

If not that, I'd like to work on creating chemicals that would help with women and giving birth. Something that would help stop premature births. But that's still in the works as it is. sad.gif So everything is up in the air.

Insane? Nah. Insane is what my friend did.

Raised Southern Baptist, believes dinosaurs are a liberal conspiracy, Physics are a psuedo-science (she scored a 5 on the AP Physics test, as well), and that homosexuality is such a sin, every time we talk, she begins and ends the conversation with an apology on my behalf. It's very irritating.

And she's going to school for Nanotech engineering. And she was, for the first time, "late". Two days, now. Her mother will skin her alive. I <3 her so much. I wish I could irritate my parents as well as she can.

Took a year of college last year at Western Washington University, hated it, because of that (and sleeping in, and MUDs, and girls, etc) my grades sucked and they told me not to come back. happy.gif

Something doesn't surprise me.
Richter2005-08-09 18:30:55
Are you going to provide a reason for why that doesn't surprise you, or are you just going to leave it hanging?
