Hello everyone,
I'm sure this idea has been tossed around before, but I would really like to something like the following added for families in Lusternia.
Founders of families should be able to consider siblings to go under Progenitors in the family tree.
Change FAMILY CONSIDER Command to: FAMILY CONSIDER CHILD/SIBLING (PERSON)
+ To be able to consider a sibling, they must be no more than 10 years order or younger than the founder that considers them.
+ Both founders have to be at the Family registry to consider a new sibling.
+ Only founders would be able to consider siblings, as the children of the progenitors would be determined by their parents.
+ This could cost the founders 1000 gold to consider a sibling, and it would take the same amount of time as considering a child.
+ As with considering a child, you can only consider one sibling at a time, and can not be considering a child at the same time.
Again, this would only apply to founders of families. First Gen, etc would not be able to consider siblings.
I'd like to hear from the Admins about this. I know a lot of people that would like something like this to be implemented.

Yes, this should definitely be implemented. But someone will throw a fit about Great Houses. Again.
Xenthos2005-08-05 18:43:40
Yes, please.

Have it so that all siblings have to consider a new one, so you can't add a sibling, have him add while you consider a child, have the new sibling add while you both consider children... This way, you can't massively grow your house this way, but you can still have extra siblings.
Richter2005-08-05 20:26:23
Do away with great houses. That's whats holding us back, I thought. They didn't want us to be able to get a great house easy, so we can't start a family with more than two people.
Sylphas2005-08-05 20:28:02
That would be the easiest way.
Kayde2005-08-05 20:28:42
The idea was that only the founders of the house would be able to consider a new sibling, and when being considered, like with kids, the other founder can't consider anyone else. Just like mom can't consider one kid, while dad considers another. Basically, if you are a new sibling, you wouldn't be able to consider another sibling, only the FOUNDERS would be able to consider new siblings.

I believe this is called "SOL".
Richter2005-08-05 20:32:59
Happened to me. I dropped him, bonded with Murphy.
Ialie2005-08-05 20:41:28
Mine too... Ialen, but now only way I can carry on my name is to get married to a man willing to take my name.
Daevos2005-08-05 20:51:28
The official Great Houses require that you have far far too many people. The requirement should definitely to atleast 20 instead of 50 active members.
Joli2005-08-05 20:58:40
My sibling has gone dormant too..
Shiri2005-08-06 00:18:19
Dooo iiiit. Drop Great Houses if they want to complain. Argh.
Kayde2005-08-06 01:10:54
With the way I suggest it, I don't see how it would hinder the difficulty of getting a great house, since considering a sibling would be exactly the same as considering a child. In fact, it would be more difficult, since you can only consider 1 sibling at a time, whereas if both of your founders have spouces, they can consider 2 children at a time, and if your children get married, that adds to the family as well, and then if those married children have children...etc.
The main thing allowing siblings would do is help those players that were created during open beta to actually join the families that they wanted to be a part of in the begining.

No, they claim it would make it too easy, that's the thing.
Sylphas2005-08-06 01:19:11
If every sibling had to consider a new one, it would actually slow down optimal family growth, instead of speeding it up. DO IT!!!

Is there even one Greathouse yet?
Maybe the requirement really is too big. And siblings should be allowed.

Shiri2005-08-06 02:24:09
Nope. The biggest house is at 8 members. 9 soon, I believe.
Unknown2005-08-06 02:36:20
Exactly. And, only in Magnagora, there are 3 (I think) greathouses to populate. Daevos makes smart attempts to encourage it, but I doubt we even have enough active players to cover them all, even if everyone joined one, not to mention the requirements for it (as not everone can become a member just like that).
Really, growth of families should be supported, not limited.
