Hi guys,
Please let me know if I go over the top or offend any players with Tully.
After this week, I only plan to be in the basin 1-2.5 hours (in real world terms) every week around this time.
I want to make sure people are more amused and not offended by Tully, unlike my previous characters. I want a character who is more of a civilian than anything like the norm. I figure this is the way to get those "Astro City" moments within the game.

Tully is awesome. He's a wonderful character, and tends to make all of us grin with his antics.
Now if we can get some idjits *eye Gregori* to not KILL the damn janitors, we'd be better off *Grin*

I am not going to abandon my RP just because somebody plays a loveable character. He is Magnagoran. He was following them around as they raided. Him being unenemied to the Commune just because he didn't fight was a load of crap. However, he is enemied to my demesne.

I was tempted to ask for grooming classes just for kicks, but you're magnagorian..
Alger2005-08-06 22:25:14
To alger you're a serf hope you dont take that in a bad way.

Tully is great!

Tully is average.
Tully is mild, yet
Tully makes -all- the girls go wild.

Yes. Damnit. Fixed.

I think the thing to realize, Gregori, is that just because Tully is part of the Magnagorian empire, that does not make him evil or "bad". I've dropped hints to that effect.
It's not meant to be unrealistic RP, but rather realistic. Think about it. There have got to be a lot of civilians in Magnagora. What do they do. Are they all tainted races? Does everybody go into the ur'Guard or become a Nihilist or Geomancer? Will Serenwilde end up killing every man, woman, and child in Magnagora if they were to "win". Think about it. Was everybody in Germany a Nazi? Is everybody in Iraq a radical terrorist?
Tully's basically one of the "average joe" Magnagorians. He treats those with kindness first, no matter where they hail from. He won't do anything against his morals, which is why he doesn't involve himself in Mag's campaigns.
I've tried to drop hints to that effect. For instance--Tully encountered Munsia on the Ethereal plane and he was told "leave". Not having a mana vial and forced to meditate, Munsia gave him one so he could use the Earth gate. Tully ended up dipping into his uncle's trust fund and gave Munsia 20 credits, and sent a message thanking the beautiful lady who gave him the nifty vial. I don't think he "got" Munsia's tone. ;-)
(Tully's technically poor and is a bonded servant of the Denzien Viscanti Noble houses, but he had a "family trust"--OOC I had 400 credits and sold a few of them at 2500 a pop, invested most of the rest in Planar and one of those flower pots, and gave a few away to some other mags who seemed needy. No, I don't have more credits, not for a long while anyway).
If I could describe Tully, he's kind of a combination of the main character of the comic strip Frazz (who's a philisophical janitor), has some Pip the Troll in him (the Marvel Comic Character--that bad boy rascal from the Adam Warlock Saga), and has some of the gee wiz attitude of Skull the Troll from PVP. And maybe a bit of Segar's Popeye. He's neither sinner nor saint. He can sing bawdy tales and make dirty jokes, but can also give flowers to any woman he sees.
I'll have to write a background for this guy when I have some time. He's a little hard to place.
Y'know what would be cool? If everybody created a civilian character and invested a couple an hours a week doing that. It could bring more character to the place, IMO. I have a few other concepts but I have to stick with this one for now.

That's fine. Thats -your- RP. Doesn't mean I have to change mine. Gregori is a zealot and a fanatic and all that wonderful stuff. You follow Magnagoran dogs around as they raid. You deserve to die like Magnagoran dogs. End of story.
Unknown2005-08-06 23:10:11
Not saying you should at all.
Just don't be surprised if others in your commune don't agree with you. Or if the Mags go on a campaign of vengance against you 'cause you hurt Tully.

Gregori2005-08-06 23:16:19
ROFL.. The Mags already go on a campaign of vengeance. Killing you, isn't going to make a whole lot of difference. You might be a "loveable" character but don't let your head swell to much.
Unknown2005-08-06 23:19:07
I think the mags would go to war for anything.
You sneezed on me...WAR!
You ate my food I dropped...WAR!!!!
You blinked at me...WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the thing to realise, Tully, is that if you are part of the Magnagoran Empire, then that makes you scum to Gregori. If Tully wants to play with the big boys as they raid, then he should expect to be treated accordingly.
There shall be no "OHMAHFREAKINGAWD! DON'T KILL THE MAGNAGORAN JANITOR HE IS HELLA COOL!" from Serenwilde.
So sorry.
The end.
On a side note, I thought the posts were great.

Ooh! Just heard about the Broom post! Skyla will be a little huffy and puffy about that one, and may begin to spit venom, but it keeps things interesting.
Gregori2005-08-06 23:24:29
Well at least the venom spitting will be targetted away from me tonight! Tully deserves my thanks for that at least!
Unknown2005-08-06 23:25:27
I swore Tully was a NPC when first saw him. Cool character.
Unknown2005-08-06 23:25:57
Well, actually, he partook in only 1 raid, I think, and all he did was sweep up the guts on the floor. He got wisped one time.
In all the other instances, he pretty much did the kindly things, like taking the fae back to mother with the honeycakes or giving the girl her rabbit back. When he's not trying to get to the astral plane to sweep up the dandruff.
Tully's gonna stay away from the Ethereal plane because it's kinda zooey up there now.
I do hope some of the 'dancers show up next weekend.
