Ethelon's system is set to gag oaken pipe and artie pipe descriptions, but it isn't set for these artisan ones. So whenever I go to raise rebounding in the area I get spammed...

You take a long drag off your pipe.

nautilus' shell. Spiralling out from the centre of the shell is a long
straw of wood. It is painted light orange with white patterns that
resemble an actual shell. The shell's opening points upwards, and is
large enough to contain a substantial amount of any herb.

How do I gag that?

In zMUD, there are a few ways. You could set up a ton of separate gag triggers for each line of the descriptions, one trigger using $ to separate the lines, or a multistate trigger with a condition for each line, with within|param=1 set, or one trigger for the last line that would gag x times.

But you're not on zMUD, so I have no idea happy.gif
Gwylifar2005-08-07 23:01:07
Also, change the trigger that does PROBE PIPE to one that does L IN PIPE so you won't even see the description in the first place, and won't need to gag it.

I've been meaning to get around to gagging the pipes aswell, Guido. I'll see if I can do it this afternoon and then get back to you.
Soll2005-08-07 23:21:46
Wooo. Using the design I submitted. happy.gif

you can always buy the new system, it uses pipelist to update everything. Otherwise you have to GAG eachline in the free version
Unknown2005-08-08 05:27:05
I just want to know how to go about setting a gag in MUSHclient.

I've been meaning to ask, how much is that new system and what does it have that your freebie (loves it, as Paris would say) doesn't?
Alger2005-08-08 10:31:24
umm i have a question... why do you have to use pipelist, l in pipe, probe pipe anyway?
Xinael2005-08-08 10:32:52
To see how many puffs the herb has left so you know when to refill it.

Except that Ethelon's system seems to autofill them anyway tongue.gif. So it does seem a bit silly.
Xinael2005-08-08 10:48:09
You can also just trigger off filling a pipe to set, for example, variable coltpipe to 10, then smoking it to reduce it by 1. When it gets to 0, refill. If someone's been illusioning or something, this will make you try and fill early, that's all. Seeing as you won't be able to while it's full, the variable won't get set back to 10, and you'll just keep trying (hooray for gagging) until you do fill them.
Unknown2005-08-08 12:01:18
Being able to look in pipes and see the exact number of puffs almost negates the usefulness of PipeList. I'd rather see it so that you only see the herb that's in the pipe and not how much of it is left (i.e., you're not skilled enough to discern just how charred it is, really).

Why would anyone buy a system that only uses PipeList when not everyone has PipeList yet? Shouldn't the system have another way to check if pipes need to be refilled? I'm sure there are triggers for the "nothing smokeable in it" messages, at least.

My guess is the probe pipe thing is there specifically to make that possible.
Unknown2005-08-08 18:11:20
So no one knows how to make a gag, I take it?
Gwylifar2005-08-08 21:11:48
#gag {the text you want to gag}

But changing "P PIPE" to "L IN PIPE" will do the job so much better, so the answer is don't gag, do it right.
Unknown2005-08-08 22:18:06
1. I'm in MUSHclient.
2. There are so many triggers, I'll never be able to find that one to change it tongue.gif

My best guess is that one.
Alger2005-08-08 22:31:53
you dont really need to l in pipe pipelist or probe pipe to run a counter though.
Unknown2005-08-08 23:00:11
I changed it to 'l in pipe', and now my pipes no longer auto-relight, even after I changed it back to probe.
