Serenwilde bitches about our bitching more than we actually bitch.

Or did I just blow your mind?

You were banned when this bitching took place.

I believe what's worse than the initial bitching AND the bitching over the initial bitching AND the bitching about how they believe the bitching is making their bitching worse than the actual bitching was put together is the fact that someone was bitching about the initial bitching so long after it died and people just stopped bitching.

God. So censor.gif childish. I honestly can't decide what's worse - the fact Jairdan brought it up, or the people who weren't even there are defending the bitching which has been considered null and void and attempting to make it out worse than it really was?

Jairdan != Serenwilde.

Serenwilde whines about lich, ghost, Mag and Glom teaming, and general unfairness.
Glom whines about Faethorn unfairness, and how Estarra hates all of them.
Celest whines because it has had 3 people in all of it's history who aren't morons, and because everyone likes to beat them up.
Magnagora whines about wisp and flow and all the other general commune overpoweredness.

We all have something to bitch about. Never accuse any one faction of being extra-annoying.

Nah, but I am sure you have been blowing something.

Celestia and Nil have nothing to do with Geomancers or Aquamancers. They rule in their own elemental planes. Why would that change? Celestia and Nil already have advantages against Celestines and Nihilists, so I don't see why they should have more.

I think Maeve's sylvan woods are a nice RP choice, i.e., wild fae woods that must be somewhat tamed or influenced to be sympathetic towards any particular druid. This wasn't done so much because Hartstone had a huge advantage, but it reinforces the RP perspective that Faethorn does NOT belong to any one commune (sorry if that pisses Serenwilders off but that's just the way it is).

Has anyone noticed in Maeve's announcement that she will only break to neutrality during two CONSECUTIVE terms under one Great Spirit? This means it is theoretically possible for communes to agree to pass Faethorn back and forth between them indefinitely without Maeve breaking her sceptre.

BTW, there is one extra very large change which wasn't announced. We'll see if anyone catches it.

But when Queen Maeve shouts "The Faethorn now serves Mother Moon!", the Serenwilde feels forced (And I believe rightfully so) to protect the Faethorn from Night. Thus, Faethorn belongs to the Serenwilde.

If Maeve were to shout the same for Mother Night, I could understand us having to forceforest, and them being able to meld straight through.

However, Druids =! Moon/Night, so. It likewise makes sense.

As to the part of Maeve's announcement, you're very right, and I did notice. It just means Faethorn will be neutral for a period of time between two years of Seren control. Especially with Magnagora now being unable to force at all on the Ethereal. It's an annoyance, really, but nothing more.

As biased as it sounds, I do not foresee Glomdoring and the Wilde sharing Faethorn. Even if it was two terms Seren, one term Glom, two terms Seren, etc. To do so would mean to defy Moon which, unlike the Shadowdancers, Serenwilde is not willing to do.

We're aware we don't have to do everything they say. They can be wrong. But we don't want to go against them. It makes little sense. Especially because the Moondancers are a large part of the Wilde, Druids are a very, very small part, and the Serenguard's skillchoices reflect this, as well.

All of this said, cheers.gif to Estarra. I very much appreciate your effort and the amount of work you have to be putting into this. I've restrained my criticism for the changes for the most part, I believe anyway, because I realize other people will say it, and there's no need for one more voice in a crowd of a hundred.

Thank you. smile.gif If absolutely nothing else, you're trying. And that's a hell of a lot more than I can say for other MUDs I've been on. <3 wub.gif cheers.gif

And I do understand the wild fae woods, etc making sense (Now that it has been explained this way, and not just a "Yea it's like this kthnx"). Maybe we could get a cool special type of room-forest line? Like how when a Geomancer melds in a tainted forest room, it makes it into a barren, foilage-lacking wasteland.

Something cool and serene, showing Hart's control over the wild Fae?

So does this mean they finally took out all the mad wisping on ethereal?
Sylphas2005-08-09 21:17:27
No. Nothing has really changed with the forest type. It just means someone has to spend and extra 81 power. Again. The base type hasn't mattered in forever.

The fact that the swimming message now has too many spaces in it?

Or the fact that 50% of all credit purchases are now directly converted to gold and sent to my bank account?

The base type does matter. I like the sylvan part of the change. My earlier post though was mainly about what I perceive to be a imbalance in the game. Commune planar defense vs City planar defense. The communes have vast advantage in that area for several reason.

1. They have wisp.
2. They have flow.
3. They have a smaller area to protect.
4. They can station guards throughout their respective area.
5. They can utilize totems throughout their respective area.
6. Most of their citizens are able to instantly get to the plane through their tree.
7. They have the added defense of the Champions, who while not controllable still attack enemies of the Moon spirit. Which every important denizen in their area is a part of.
Unknown2005-08-09 21:47:36
If somebody really wants to stop the war, I'd suggest somebody create a planar rift in or near an Aetherplex manse--dunno if they work in manses--then make a run to grab all the fae with honeycakes, then lock everybody out of the manse and give the fae control over their own destinies.

I don't know if any fae spawn until some are taken out of the pool and given to whoever takes them. If it's true they don't spawn until some are removed...bam, instant end to the war...

Richter, don't you want denziens in Deepnight? biggrin.gif

Or maybe not...

Glomdoring whining? I'm pretty sure it was the Seren bitching about me demesning up there. Pretty sure you were the ones bitching about the archways as well.

Edit: Oh yeah, Nil and Celestia should be impossible to demesne by anyone except the relevant mages.
164162

Especially since one of the files somewhere says "If the Taint ever reaches the Pool or Celestia we're all doomed." or words to that effect. The Pool on Prime and on Celestia has been Tainted before, as well as most of Celestia. This didn't directly cause us to be doomed... though... we're pretty screwed on all other accounts, that's just unrelated biggrin.gif
Richter2005-08-09 21:54:32
Heh, I dunno if that would work.

Plus, I've never tried gateweaving from a manse, but I'm going to try tonight.

Honestly, I don't think much is going to stop the fighting except a treaty that both leaders back with no exceptions.
Alger2005-08-09 22:00:03
yeah we know! we've heard also that if all the supernals fell Celestia would fall... then no matter how many times we taint the pool or that time we killed all the supernals nothing happened. We'd be like hmmm, didnt work... oh well, we'll try again tomorrow.

Yea I know... and we're feeling that from this side too. It's like... well... the Supernals are more easy to raise than they are to protect, and it doesn't really matter if they die, so why bother? :S

That's not what people are saying of course, but it's the way things are.
