One problem I encountered is that the client will sometimes kick me back to the character login screen. i bugged it though.

You type "bug this thing is screwing up" then it goes "Your bug has been submitted"

I am thinking it might be a problem with the java on this piece of poo computer. My brother downloads too much porn and has probably got a bajillion viruses corrupting everything.

When I use 'rn', it logs each news item as read but only displays one. Why?

So that's what was happening. I did "rn", and then "rn" again and nothing happened even though two of my posts were unread, and still in green.

Whoa this is so overpowered people get a compass and constant stats updates even without prompt change and they see their EXP BAwahas!!

The solution is to change the background using the gears icon (gears == configuration).

Maybe it's just me, but all that has is black and leather. Am I just unlucky or something? The old JAVA client had like 8 backgrounds.
