If you WANT total world domination, then you NEED control over every human. However, you do not NEED control over every human. Therefore, complaining to God for not giving you control over every human, ends up making you look silly. Your better off just asking for World domination.

Moondancer RP does not allow them to sit back and watch Night dominate Faethorn. Therefore, they do have a need to keep an eye on Ethereal all the time.

I understand that. However, people have so far asked the Admin to make new games for them to play on the Ethereal realm because they are somehow "forced" to be there. , they are also here, saying that there is too much conflict on Ethereal for them, again, asking the administration to change that.
I think its silly to ask the admin to make changes for something that we create ourselves, just because a small group of people are getting tired of continuing the roleplay that they started.

Moon and Night were allies before Kethuru tainted Gloriana... I wonder how Faethorn was handled back then, historically?
Sylphas2005-08-11 23:45:41
I'd guess it cycled naturally, but that it was disrupted by the coming of Kethuru.

Would they just cycle Moon -> Night -> Lake -> Moon -> Night -> Ect. do you think?
Sylphas2005-08-11 23:51:12
Hmm. Lake has never fit quite right in my mind alongside Moon and Night, but I'd assume so, yes. Of course, I'm not a Moondancer or anything.

No, it isn't something we create ourselves. It's in the role set out for us. The only thing you could really say it is "our fault" about is that we -haven't given up on- the role set out for us. Personally I have no problem with the intense conflict, but it's burning other people out and it's hardly something you can accuse them of "starting."
(Also, no one start this "ignore your purpose and everything will be okay!" crud. )

If I'm not mistaken, the role is to help protect and heal the fae. Theres got to be better ways of doing that then sitting at a gateway watching for any people who look funny and immediatly killing them.
I just have a hard time believing that this is what the administration said is the only way to go about acomplishing our goals.
Shiri2005-08-12 03:33:35
If people walk in every, well, half an hour and try to kill Fae, then no, you can't really protect them other than by standing guard. People not SAYING that this is the only way doesn't detract adequately from the fact that...well, it is. Apart from just ignoring the issue, of course.
Corr2005-08-12 03:34:32
I thought I read somewhere here that the quests were changed so that nobody has to kill fae anymore.
Shiri2005-08-12 03:38:58
Instead, the Ladies of Silver Light get killed, so do the Faethorn Knights (when the Magnagorans are around, most Glooms seem not to do this), and the Fae get bound in shadows.
Corr2005-08-12 03:43:06
Well I guess if this is the role we have to have, its the role we have to have.
But I hope people don't complain when the Magnagorans attack every living thing on the planet, the Celestians spend all day long preaching ideas on shouts all day, and Glomdoring does whatever it does, constantly and non stop.
I would have had more faith that people who are in charge of running guilds could be a bit more creative than this.

Do you propose we only defend the Fae in the morning, or on alternate days, or something?
Corr2005-08-12 03:58:42
I'm not sure, but we don't stop thieves by chopping off the hand of anyone who takes a pen from the office.
To make a more relevant point, I don't see Magnagora stationing a person with a demense in every village they own, and I'm fairly sure its part of their role to maintain control of their villages and stop anyone from weakening them.

Are their villages raided constantly? Not really. Sometimes people go into Angkrag, but nowhere near as often, since we get Faethorn attacks several times per day.

You realize that your arguments will basically end up just running in circles?
Your saying you have to sit and do nothing because if you don't people will kill fae, and your proof for this is that fae are often attacked while you sit and do nothing.

No, my proof for this is that Fae are often attacked whether or not you sit or do nothing. They are often attacked because they are often attacked. You realise that people don't ONLY attack because we stand guard, right?

You are right, they don't. They have something called guards and statues that can be placed inside their villages to protect them.

Faethorn wasn't 'controlled' by anyone back then. There was no need for it. The communes all were friendly and worked together. The reason for Queen Maeve accepting the rule of Moon or Night is because Moon and Night keep fighting, and since Maeve is created from both of their spirits (and all the other Great Spirits), she's internally torn by the conflict. When she's neutral, the two halves of her are fighting for dominance, and one must emerge victorious before she can be at peace.
At least, this is my interperation of the situation OOC. Not sure how accuate it is.
