My physics teacher from last year called my cell phone this evening, and asked how life's been treating me in the three to four months since we've graduated. I told him I'm making 15 an hour, doing practically nothing.
Cool, right? Well, he asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up. and it kind of left me thinking.
I'm still a child at heart - probably will always be. So, I'm demanding my rights to aspirations to rediculous jobs. And I've decided mine. With my good looks (and insane use of hair gel) I want to be..
A fire dancer. You heard me, one of those crazy mofos twirling around burning sticks dancing erotically between pyres of flame in a tantalizing and mesmerizing display of primal desire and instinct.
Not really, but I think it'd be a kick ass job.
Sooo. What other people have jobs they'd ssooo want to be, but know they won't, for one reason or another?

I always wanted to have a job in the video games industry (either programmer or 3D artist), yes i'm that geeky, but after losing 3 years of my life at college, trying to code anything on C++ and failing miserably every time, i kinda figured that wasn't for me. Well, that leaves me 3D artist, right? Wrong. I can't draw for crap, something that is -slightly- important in that job.
It's really a shame because if i have a passion in life, it really is video games . So, i'm stuck studying something in which i have a vague interest but no passion at all. Gotta love life.

I'm glad a waited to reply.. because I'm trying to do that now. Doubling in Programming and Japanese Lang/Studies when I transfer next year. I don't know how far I'll get, but eventually I plan on being a Producer in one of these gaming companies. I figure I've been playing games since I could speak so why not?
I'd say go for it in some form.. there's always the business aspect of it to build from. What are ya doing now anyway?
Nooo.. I'm not hijacking the thread. If there's something I wanted to do before this it would have to be.. medicine. I really get emotional when I see medical issues and really have the urge to do something about them, but I know I could never be able to do those things and cope with the idea of losing someone's life.

Things I wanted to do full time but won't due to lack of ability and/or money.
Writing/singing/acting. Love em all. Am not good -enough- at any of them to accept years of making pennies while I hope I can be that one in a million who succeeds.
So I'll become an actuary, make $50k out of college, $100k within 5 years hopefully, and write on the side .

-eyeshift- I wanted to program video games until they showed me the math classes required for that degree. Yeah, there's no way in hell I can pass those math classes..
Now I wanna be an english teacher. I'd like to be like my old english teacher from my junior year because she was awesome and actually taught you something. I also think it's sad that there are people who've made it into highschool and still can't write a decent paragragh..

Didn't see that. I'm young enough still, I think I could have a shot at it. I'll try, anyway.

I wanna be just like Lisaera!

A cat. Dominate humanity without opposable thumbs. Always wanted to be a cat. Dunno why, just thought it'd be pretty damn spiffy.

I wanna be a writer I'm -told- I'm a good writer, but it takes some serious dedication to write several hundred pages on any subject.

*points self* Me too (for the first part anyway)! Though if I told any of my friends they'd roll their eyes and laugh. It's a daydream that has occupied my mind more than once... though the only one I think I might have a slightest of a slightest possibility at is screen writing/directing. *shrug*
When people ask me what I want to get into, I say optometry (sp?), but lately I've been thinking about going into environmental studies (someone has to save that ozone!)... and I'm kind of torn between which one is more important, I have passion for both... and I'm going into my final year

Yea, my friends reacted the same way when I told them I wanted to become an erotic fire dancer.

Military mechanical/chemical engineer specialising in demolition and insertion logistics. I don't even graduate from HS for another year.

Wanted to make video games until I took CS141. Though it could have been because I slept through the class, missed labs, and did none of the homework.
Also wanted to do something with video game music, since I'm a musician.
And I have a strange draw towards the occupation of park ranger or police officer. Strange, eh?
If I could be a full time paid Lusternia staff member, that'd be cool too.

I'm the only person out of pretty much all the people I know who actually wants to stay in the good ole hometown for College. Everyone else is running away as if they hate it...
