When I grow up, I wanna be a..

Back to The Real World.

A lottery winner.
Raezon2005-08-13 01:41:15
The number $1.7 billion keeps coming up in my dreams, so I wouldn't mind being a billionaire... but what I really have always wanted to be is...

an actual, living, breathing wizard... one that shoots fireballs, and reflects other spells, and combats other wizards, and can turn things into other things... or an honest-to-goodness sword fighter. No more of this gun stupidity, I can't imagine people holding up stores if all they had was a sword and everyone else was carrying around a sword too.

*sigh
I'd like to be one if I was the only one in existance.
Because I wouldn't like to be a subject of a sorcery, really...

Well, I'm going to be a computer science major, and I think working with video games would be cool, but I don't think I'd end up doing that.

But what I'd REALLY love to be is an explorer/archaeologist. I wish the entire world hadn't been discovered (well, most of it has, but I mean...I wish there was some huge continent that was undiscovered) and I would go and dig things up and be one of the first people there. Talk about awesome.

Librarian. I've been working in libraries since my first job at 16, and I see no reason to stop in the future.
Unknown2005-08-14 02:26:50
Well I'm currently taking classes to major in Comp Sci and either Psych or Theatre, but I haven't officially declared my major.

Probably the most fun sounding job at this very second would be a proffesional policy debater. They don't really exist for the most part, but it would be a lot of fun. I say this mostly because I'm very sad I can't debate this year because I have to get a job. Money is stupid, but communism is worse.

If I had to pick something real, possibly a lawyer. I know people hate lawyers, but it's usually the prosecuting attorneys that people don't like, unless the defendant is someone commonly assumed to be guilty. Plus it's sort of like debating, except it actually exists in the real world and not just in my head.

And finally, what I'll probably end up doing is either network security (AKA legal hacking) or some form of game design. I'm good at programming in C/C++ and decent in Java (although Java is the hellspawn of the devil's scrotum. It keeps telling me my code is archaic) but programming isn't really my favorite thing to do. But hopefully it'll get more challenging later.

But I'm only 16 right now, so I still have a while to decide what I'm going to do after school, and I can still claim to legitimately be a child. Did I mention I love debate?

A lawyer. A human rights lawyer, hopefully..

Don't laugh. I like law. sad.gif

wub.gif Raezon

If you ever learn how to do that you need to teach me!

I've always wanted to learn how to swordfight and/or fencing. The college I want to go to actually offers it too! happy.gif Now if I could just staffcast in real life I would be the best LARPer ever. biggrin.gif

Modern sport fencing is to real swordfighting what My Little Pony is to riding a real horse.

But yeah, it'd be awesome to learn actually sword skills.

baby steps, Sylphas. I'm not going to swordfight until I actually know what the hell I'm doing.. might cut myself.
tsaephai2005-08-15 01:53:29
taxonomist. yup. i specifically want to do an electrophoresis on different species of poaceae, and seeing how the differences would eventually lead to another species. like finding the amount different in two separate species as compared to one species.
Marcalo2005-08-15 02:08:31
a animal vet, always been a bleeding heart animal freak, unrealilisticly, i would LOVE to be a monkey, don't ask why just accept it.
Stangmar2005-08-15 02:40:54
I want to be the owner of a big computer company and build computers. Or, if i live in a small town, start up a smaller computer business and use wholesale parts from a site i know to build cheap, quality computers, and yet be the only computer company in town. It would be a MONOPOLY! MWAHAHAHAHA!

Porn Star. Someone was bound to say that eventually.

Currently I am studying Network Engineering, but I am looking into Real Estate.
Unknown2005-08-15 06:13:11
The three things I've tossed around in my head for a long time are:

A writer (novels, short stories and some journalism from time to time)
A clinical psychologist (looking into areas such as forensic psychology, abnormal psychology and developmental psychology)
A teacher (focussing on histories, english (I spose I should learn to spell) and philosophy)

I am sure I have the ability to do all three, but currently I lack the motivation to really do much at all.
Manjanaia2005-08-15 20:10:18
I'd hate to be a porn star. I mean, if sex is your job, what do you do for fun?
Sylphas2005-08-15 20:30:26
With the release of Bookbinding, I must again reiterate: Librarian.
Gaetele2005-08-16 23:12:55
I've had a trillion + pi different thoughts run through my head when it comes to this subject, and I think I've narrowed it down.

1) Video game programmer/designer
2) Chef/Culinary critic
3) Defense Attorney
4) Policeman

Hrm. Seems pretty broad.
Archthron2005-08-16 23:29:11
Hmm... I would say that I want to be a criminal mastermind, international pirate, bioengineer creating creatures with which to enhance/conquer the world, and creator and emperor of a new Atlantis, in that order, except that I am planning on all of them, so it doesn't fit the question. What I will say is that I would like to be a writer or a video game designer, but will never be because they take to much dedication and don't pay enough for me to live an exorbitant lifestyle. wink.gif
Akraasiel2005-08-17 18:44:38
Hmm, I either want to grow up (assuming I ever do in fact manage to grow up) to be God, the current one censor.gif up enough to make replacing it a sitch, or a crazy cat lady. I love cats, and love scaring neighborhood children.

EDIT: Watch your language. ~Shiri~
