I've created a map, and I thought it would be a neat idea if when you put the mouse over a room, it showed the room desciption.

Now, on a scale of 1-10, I'm at about a 3 for website coding/picture stuff. Any ideas on how to do this?

Get Fireworks MX(not a cheap program), import your map, and it will do the rest for you(or, it will do all the hard stuff). Once you have the design set up the way you want it, you can export it and it will do all the ###### for you.

Any way to do this with... geocities?

As Hajamin said, you could also get a copy of Ulead Photo Impact (demo) from their website, it has a tool for that kind of thing too...

But... that's -a- -lot- of work if you seriously want to label all the rooms of an A3 map...

If you need any help with the software, just IM me. (see profile)

Use Flash! I think you could do it pretty easily with some actionscript, buttons, and a dynamic textbox.

I don't know anything about flash. sad.gif

This is a basic feature for HTML, and any program that gives you WYSIWYG control of your webpage editing should be able to do it for you.

Just look up ALT tags for images.

I bet this could be done in notepad, but its been so long since I've done anything in HTML, so I couldn't tell you how.

If you happen to have Adobe ImageReady, it does it well biggrin.gif and is helpful. You could always do it yourself by making the images and writing out the code, but things like imageready and the other things people suggested create the code for you and make life easier and less tedious.
