9.4.10 THE BOOKBINDING SKILL (trade)

A bookbinder is much more than a tradesperson who designs and creates a
variety of books, though that is a primary service he or she offers.
Bookbinders also act as scribes, learning new languages and translating
writings. The most notable achievement, however, is their mastery of
magical writings, wherein they may scribe magical scrolls. To create
magical scrolls, the bookbinder also needs the services of an alchemist
and an enchanter.

The culture point system sounds really amazing, I can't wait to see how that pans out.

Oh.. wow. Is it creative? Or utility like herbs/enchantments?

OMG WHER IZ OUR DRUID SKILL DRUIDZ NEED A NEW SKILL WTF?!

Just kidding! Something as likely to create excellent RP as bookbinding beats out those stinky druids any day.

Subj: Books and Bookbinding

The new trade skill of bookbinding involves (as the name suggests) binding books. Every city and commune will form a bookbinding cartel. City and commune leaders, please message me the name of your cartel and the first trademaster (if any).

However, bookbinders have a range of other abilities, making them quite unique for a trade skill, notably the learning of languages and scripting of magical scrolls. These scrolls include some useful spells, one of which will be a weighty change to demesnes. Enchanters, alchemists, mages and druids will note new spells.

Finally, as the scribes who built the press rooms have indicated, this
is start of another large institution: Libraries! Because of the complexity of the library system, we will gradually be introducing it throughout the next week or two. One of the largest changes (so prepare yourselves) will be the introduction of a city and commune culture score which impacts politics, and will allow players to introduce histories and writings through contests that will also generate power for their respective cities and communes. More will be revealed as systems are implemented.

I've decided this is all just a plot to make me buy more credits. Becoming Wisdom of Knowledge in the Moondancers, bookbinding and libraries...it's all a little too neat.

This has been a long awaited skill and feature, I'm just amazed at how detailed and unique the system is apparently going to be... No wonder if took you guys so long to release it!
