I think they'll get rid of all the helpscroll libraries safe for HELP, once the whole skill and what's to it is implemented.
Mark my words when you start copying all your GHELPS *sage*
That'll give you a market *grin*

Just need to work out how organizational permissions work for books... For example, finding out who can write in a book made just for Moondancers, and who can write in a book made just for the Moondancer leadership clan, and how one can control these things.

Unlike obscure knowledge from books tomes and that sort of things, help files are actually supposed to be common knowledge for your characters, that's why they are widely available.
I know it doesn't work that way exactly, but getting it all straightened out would be way too much of a hassle

Hmm well, I wasn't really serious when I suggested getting rid of GHELPS
But, I think guilds may certainly want to get rid of a few individual GHELP scrolls and instead have those scribed into books and codexes.

Richter2005-08-15 21:27:47
I'd rather direct them to the library.

"guild appoint (name) archivist" is still trying to appoint them as undersecretaries But that'll be fixed soon enough. I'm just being pestering 'cause I'm giddy with happiness over having books finally

Trills don't have a language.

You know, there are only 3 Krokani that i know of. Daganev, Alyssandra, and Aragrot(me)
EDIT: Just looked on the website for all the krokani players. There are tons, but they all appear to be noobs who logged on 2 or 3 times and went inactive.

There's one or two active Krokani in the Ebonguard, not counting Daganev.
Unknown2005-08-15 22:55:56
Where do you go to learn these languages?
Unknown2005-08-15 22:57:01
There's a library in the black tower, although its only fuction right now is for studying languages. Don't know about the rest.
Sylphas2005-08-15 23:00:05
I'm not sure if it's a bug, or if it'll be like this until actual libraries go in, but I was able to learn mine anywhere.
Unknown2005-08-15 23:04:18
Hmm alright, I'll just toddle off to the Moondancer archives room and RP my learning there then .

I wonder, will there ever be a disincentive to use common?
Like, common splitting into two separate 'common' languages, an Elfen-derivative for the communes and a Merian-derivative for the cities? Then a heavy willpower drain, or better yet a mispronounciation can be associated with speaking the common language you don't possess. I realize absolute barriers are always something to be feared in a wholy communication-based environment, but such a division would bring language choice to the fore of interaction, and also give benefit to those who can interact in multiple languages, without restricting interactions. I mean you can still speak both common languages, you just speak one a lot better than the other.
Might also encourage that city/commune distinction subtly.
